A friend of mine has messaged me online to find a cheap bagged cylinder vac and I've recommended a Numatic Henry over everything else they've so far had (cheap bagless to cheap supermarket bagged cylinder vacs) as they want something that is durable, cost effective and with a long hose. They live in Ireland, which isn't the UK. This isn't a pointless post but it makes me wonder what other places in the UK & Ireland are putting up with when it comes to general pricing and franchises.

Looking at the Argos site in Ireland (www.argos.ie) and Argos UK reveals a few surprises. For a start, there are 12 bagged cylinder vacs on the Irish site versus 15 bagged cylinder vacs on the UK site, 6 bagged uprights on the Irish site versus 7 bagged uprights on the UK site, to the same number for bagless uprights and cylinders. Numatic's Henry is about £5 cheaper than the normal cost Argos UK are selling.

However, the biggest shocker is the price of some of the models that Argos Ireland are selling - Hoover Globe 1103 for 349-99 Euros, equivalent to £297-29 when the same model in Argos UK is selling for £179-99 and that's when both has been reduced to these prices. That's nuts that Ireland should be paying higher costs for a bagless vacuum.
