Now that I think about it, I think I’ve seen that name on the blow-dryer units at the local pet salon. They looked a lot like the vacuum seen in the link you posted. I looked the name up on YouTube, and found their channel. The styling looks like an Electrolux model G crossed with a Hamilton beach model 26. Nice find! Thanks for sharing it with everyone!

Metropolitan has made residential vacs and light duty industrial vacuums for a long time. They have a small handheld vacuum called the "Data Vac" they made in the 80s and 90s for cleaning out computers (also a blower-only tool made later using the same mold as the DataVac).
I wouldn't think that vacuum worth $400. It's from some holiday catalog shop so the price is massively inflated. Also that model is a low end model that doesn't even have a powernozzle.
Like thatwasherguy said, they are mainly popular with their line of blower tools that they sell to pet supply retail and groomers for dog dryers. They also market it to auto detailers for car washing.

I saw a TV commercial a while back for the Metro Vac blowers for pets.
Yeah Vermont Country Store is rather expensive. They have an interesting dry iron under the old Knapp-Monarch name that they sell for $54 but it appears to be a rebranded and recolored Oster.

oh yeah that's a metropolitan omnivac from the looks of it i've got an older one which i intend to use as a blower on my future work bench.
I've also got one of the full sized units. It's....not as strong as I was hoping it would be it also kinda feels like a bunch of generic parts tossed together.

I applaud these guys for now using a new power nozzle, the other one they were previously using were so cheaply made.
Paper bags are so OBSELETE today!With todays more powerful motors,paper bags burst,leak or the dirt gets sucked thru them into the cloth bag.Go to a Filtrete type bag,please!

Metropolitan has cloth hepa disposable bags for their machine. I have one of their machines from about 10 years ago and those bags were options then. I don't like how strong the exhaust blast is, but as a vacuum it's just like a Royal without swivel ball caster wheels.
Metropolitan started out in Suffern, New York, rebuilding Electrolux trade-ins. Many companies like Spiegel catalog, sold Metro Rebuilt Lux cleaners. I hated that they disabled the ejector in the model LX rebuilds, but they were supplying one ply paper bags with the machines.

Huh, I wonder why they don't sell cloth disposable bags anymore? I think they should still. I also think they should come out with a post filter to cover the exhaust as well.

And I forgot to mention that the newer Metrovacs now have swivel casters in front of the canisters like the Royals. Honestly, I think it would be cool if TTI resurrects the Royal brand and they would have Metropolitan make the canisters under the Royal brand. I doubt it would ever happen but it would be cool to imagine that happening.

Looks like a mix of an Electrolux model T but add better wheels and a longer handle and with a generic electric hose and a generic or Miele power nozzle. And those attachments look really cheap and generic to me. I guess I think like this since I’m an Aerus/Electrolux fan.
They may have something though…the machine may prove to last since it is very simple. This is one of the reasons as to why we see so many Electrolux XXX’s, model E’s and model L’s still around today. Very simple and little to go wrong with them makes them very reliable and with the high quality motors Electrolux made…it’s no wonder they still just keep on cleaning!

new power nozzle
I have one of these canisters, it's the two speed one and mine came with the Dustcare PB11, the hose connection and plug are standard for power nozzles so in theory you can connect any power nozzle you want. One unique thing about this cleaner is that if you run the vacuum on low speed, the electricity sent through the hose is also reduced so the power nozzle will run slower and the headlight will be dimmer, I'm not sure if that is intentional or a design flaw and I'm not sure if that also happens on the newer one. Does anyone know which power nozzle they are using now? The exhaust on that machine is annoying, it's louder than the motor itself. If you run the vacuum without the hose attached it will move itself across the floor, not really useful but fun to watch.

That's the Falcon, lots of companies are switching over to this power head because the Dustcare/ESSCO power head has since been discontinued.
