Contour
When it came to style, the Electrolux Contour lacked the refinement of the 600 and make no mistake. Despite this, the build quality was significantly greater. I saw many a cleaner from the 600 range which was just too expensive to repair due to the number of broken parts which required replacement. I used to dread getting them in for repair, because unless it was for a blocked hose, a belt, or a new lead, or similar, I'd end up spending time stripping the cleaner down only to find half a dozen or more broken parts which needed to be replaced. Few if any customers ever wanted to spend the money, and I can't say I blame them either, but that left me with having to put the thing back together, and in some cases left with the cleaner too if they didn't come back.
The Turbopower 2 and 1000 cleaners were something else altogether, because apart from a very narrow hose which was liable to block, these cleaners were built like a tank. Very unusual for the time.
