Anemometers

I have a nice water lift gauge and really want an air flow tester. There are pages of anemometers on eBay....but even though they give specs, they really don't say their limits in like MPH/Knots etc. I suspect most of them measure wind. I am guessing, but I would think the velocity of a good vacuum would be more than 70MPH?

Other than the Baird/Kirby unit, what's out there? Also, there was a member who was discounting the Bairds? I don't object to the Baird, but it has no real stats, just a scale from 1-10. I really don't want to pay $52 for that + postage. It probably costs $8 to manufacture it for what it is.

Right up my alley with this one

Grab a GM8901 Anemometer. I use it for all my precision tests. I paid $30 from eBay a little less than a year ago. It maxes out at 10,000 ft/min, which is 260 CFM when converted.

The Baird meter is excellent for quick testing and is accurate enough in most cases. From my link, you can use the updated chart (at the bottom) to estimate airflow. Because it can show test results quickly, I feel it to be worth the $30 asking price I paid a little over a year ago.

that's awesome!! I was seeing so many on eBay that looked the same and boasted the same.....I needed some tutelage.

I bookmarked that flow chart for the Baird awhile back. I wanted a real meter...thanks again!
