Hi gottahaveahoover, how was your Christmas and New Year’s? I hope you had a great time at New Orléans! Have you checked out my post about my Christmas present my sister got me? You’re gonna be amazed on what I got!

Gabriel!

Yes, I did. Great machines.
Since my parents are both deceased, my aunt and I always go to Virginia to my sister's for Christmas. Her daughter, my niece, is on medical school in New Orleans. She just had her first baby 7 weeks ago. Instead of her, her hubby, and little Benjamin schlepping to VA, we ALL went to her, staying in an air B&B. It was wonderful, hot (70 degrees), etc. We were only 30 minutes from the French Quarter... We went to the World War II National Museum. PHENOMENAL!!! It was a better history lesson than 4 years of High School. Were were there 9 days.....things were backing up back at home, (holiday entertaining, etc) But...........was great to see my family and the newest addition.
Yes, the mini meet will be at the end of January. I'm sure lots of vintage and newer machines will be here. What to cook??? details, details.....

Gottahaveahoover, well I’m glad you had a great time at New Orléans. Sounds like a blast! And the mini meet sounds like fun! Get to play with collectors vintage vacs!

Soooo excited!

Meet #2 for me already! Thanks for the invite yet again.

If anyone is planning to go and has an extra outer bag, as well as spare belts, for this gorgeous beast, it'd be greatly appreciated. Or, as the young folks like me say, "HMU."

We've had HORRIBLE snow this week.

The temp dropped to 2 degrees FAHRENHEIT!
I postponed a dinner party this past week... (twice)... to some time in the future.
I'm thinking all is a "GO" this Saturday. The menu has changed, however.
It will be great to see everyone, And, to finally take down the tree, etc.
Time for the Valentines.....................
I'm thinking of lining "that staircase" this time with things from the 40s and the complete 50s lineup. Of course, the first and last Convertible would also be fun.
I'm gonna try to get out SOME of the vault machines, as well.
YAY !

Well, it was a huge success!!!

We welcomed a new person from Allentown, John Carter.Chris couldn't make it, family emergency. LOTS of machines. I lined the staircase w/ different machines this time: yellow floor washer, blue Lark, model 26, 28, 65 (pink AND gold), a few handivacs, etc.
Dinner was: Waldorf salad, Italian wedding soup, lasagna, chocolate cake....
It was SOOOO great to have these friends in my home again.
Pics will follow soon.

We had

A very wonderful time! I wasn’t able to get a whole mess of photos this time due to our Chris (hoover 28) not being able to make it due to some family issues, so I had my hands full helping a couple of people out with servicing their machines. Dinner was delicious and thankfully John doesn’t need a Kristov to make a wonderful meal as he prepares it all himself. The wedding soup was delightful and considering I don’t eat much with mayo in it the Waldorf salad was pretty much scoffed up pretty quickly by the others. Now on to the main course, lasagna was very hearty and tasty as a matter of fact just right! Desert, chocolate cake with homemade frosting so moist and tasty sadly I’m trying to diet but having that cake recipe before I just had to have a piece.

As far as photos here is what I have. it will be nice to go back down again for another meet as it always is fun. Hopefully soon I’ll be able to host my own mini meets. It’s not a matter of being able to however it’s about timing and time is scarce for me.

I can't tell you how much I really

love when these people come to mu home. The other night, there were several conversations going in the front living room, with the Christmas tree aglow. People snacking in the other room, measuring for central vac upstairs, lol. It was wonderful. Must have been: people stayed until 1:30 a.m.

sorry i missed it

John I just saw you had a meet. It was my weekend to work so it is ok I missed seeing the post till it was over. I am sure it was great fun :)

Robbie L.: we'll talk soon. But............

I thought I was able to get you a NOS bag for your Hoover Lark. I was told, (on my phone message and on the phone itself) that someone had one, new from the late Betty Fritz. My friend, Joe, had an appointment right near the Vac shop in Scranton and kindly offered to pick up said item (s). When Joe arrived, he was told, "I don't know ANYTHING about that bag"!
So, Robbie, I tried my best. I'm sure one will turn up somewhere, someday. In the meantime, to quote my brother from another mother, Tom... Tom Who? Why Anderson, of course, "Happy Hoovering"...

The subject of the famous "Pittston Hospital iced tea&#3

came up. I had 2 pitchers ready for my guests's arrival. I usually think of that as a summer drink. But, I think I'd be flogged if they came and found none.
I wish there were more pics. It was such a great time.
Snowday today: making Valentine cookies, chicken cordon bleu , a "domestic kind of day. "Oh, the weather outside is frightful......"
