I love asking for opinions and advice here and on the AW site. Everyone is so knowledgeable.
I am wanting to buy an air powered turbo brush attachment for my vacuum. Any opinions out there on what might be the best to purchase? Are they all about the same? Is it worth buying one at all? I plan to use it on my comforter for cat hair. I have a Kenmore progressive model 116.30612001.

Maybe, Maybe Not...

...As I said in the Miele thread, I've had a poor experience with a turbo brush on cat hair.

My little guy Tony also loves to snuggle on the comforter, and what I use is my trusty Dirt Devil Model 500, which has a real power brush in it. Takes care of the problem, easy to use, win-win. The Dirt Devil also takes care of cat hair on the sofa.

But - it may be that the combination of the turbo brush and the comforter you have could work out well. It just depends on the fabric and the turbo brush.

Zip Brush

Hi Tom I used the Kirby zip brush with the cat hair it worked very well. However my dear cat ( Peanut Butter passed away on Feb 21 i had him for almost 15 years i miss him so much. Sorry for going on but if you are a cat lover you no what i mean Thanks Doug

so sorry

to hear of Peanut Butters passing. I lost a beautiful chow of 13 years in 2005. I am so sorry for your loss. I have only had buddy for about 8 months. He was about a year old when I adopted him from my niece. He is so precious to me. Right now we are dealing with a broke leg. He had surgery on Feb 24th. He was such a good patient for the first five days. Then he started chewing on his stitches and got one end of the incision open. Back to the vet to re-stitch. Now the time he has them in has been extended and he is having to wear an E-collar. I hate putting him in it when I leave the house. but for his own good. He is staying in a doggie crate in the dining area. I think he thinks it is his new throne room! He loves it, and when it is time to go to bed, he goes in it all on his own. 3 - 4 more days. Here is a pic.

The only turbo brush that has seemed to work on pet hair for me is the Kirby Zip Brush. For the bedsperad I typically just put what ever vacuum I am using(usually a G6 or a convertible of some sort) and use that, but becareful because if it is a lighter bedspread it could get stuck if you get too close to the edges.

Beautiful buddy

Hi Tom Thank you very much so you no what it is to loss a pet not fun the worst.Buddy is really Beautifuly. It is nice you can give him such a nice home. I hope he heals really fast so he can take that collar off and relax. Ok Tom give him a big hug for me Thanks again Doug

Miele and hoover

If I remember all mieles come with an air powered nozzle. Anyways... it works perfect on those.

The connies have one. But they are just not that great. Ok. But I would rather buy something else for another vacuum.

So If you can find a Miele one, try and see if it will work on yours.

cheap air brushes

I bought a cheap Eureka air brush and I used it with my FQ the thing self-destructed and shot parts all over the room. I have 2 Zip brushes and I can use them with any vacuum I'm using....Bill in Az....

Kirby

If its possible and you dont mind cleaning furniture and stairs. Get the kirby zip tool. That thing whirls like a jet. Sounds like one too. Very very nice tool. Not for floors of course. Too small for that!

So....

the Zipp brush it is. I just purchased a new one on Epay. With shipping it came to $32 and some change.
From other prices I saw on the internet, this seemed like a good price.

Thanks for the input guys. tom

worth every penny

I received my Kirby Zipp brush in the mail this week. It is going to be my favorite attachment! It made very short work of getting the cat hair off my comforter. no telling what it saved me in a dry cleaning bill. It is a very heavy comforter. Thanks again for all the advice!! Tom
