Hello Everyone,

Is it just me or does the Aerus Fresh Era Upright Vacuum look an awful lot like an Oreck? The Hoover Platinum Collection Lightweight Bagged Upright has a similar look as well.

Does anyone know if Oreck or some other company is OEM'ing these vacuums. Areus' website list the country of origin as "imported." I assume that means China.

Anyone know anything about this?

Thanks,

Johnathan

The Base of the Cleaner looks like a reg. Aerus Upright

Seriousely, it does, it has the headlight look, plus the angle like a PN 5 .
Just looks likes a soft bag rather than a hard body !
Just my reaction to looking.

I agree

Norm,

I agree, the base look almost identical to a power head on the "traditional" Areus canisters and uprights, but it's the bag that is the key. It looks way too much like an Oreck bag, not only shape, but also material used in its production. In the end, it probably doesn't matter if the product works well and people are happy with the unit. But you know what they say about curiosity! Inquiring minds want to know!

I have the lux lite.

Theres also a Royal version (MRY6400), and a Hoover version (C1320)

All made by TTI

I've used the Lux Lite and the Fresh Era

Although they look resemble Orecks because of the configuration and the appearance of the outer bag material, I think Oreck and Simplicity/Riccar lightweights are sturdier and have better fit an finish.  The Lux Lite felt very wobbly and rattly new out of the box.  I have Oreck and Simplicity uprights that never felt that way and still don't after regular use.

The Fresh Era seemed a little better than the Lux Lite.  I don't know how they hold up with use.
