Just got new addition to my collection. This is real AEG made in Germany. It has serviced motor, new filter and bag. Original floor nozzle is replaced, but otherwise original. Made in early 90's.
I have searched one of these, but I finally found one.

Have anyone any experience about these AEG Vampyr 400-series ?

Now I have tested it thoroughly and it's great!
Suction is very good and sound level ear pleasingly soft.
I can get high filtration fabric bags to it. Exhaust air is cleverly channeled to avoid noise level.
To change post motor micro filter you need to take top motor cover off.
Unfortunately it didn't come with original floor nozzle, but I try to find better one.
Turbo nozzle is spinning very fast and don't bug down.

Hi Mike!
Here is my aeg. I bought this about three month ago. It's hardly non used and there was even an original white dust bag insude. Your model is the basic one. Original floortool in your machine is exactly the same than this black one but grey.

Best Regards
Markus

That's very nice red AEG Vampyr. Your AEG has removable hose from the cleaner. Mine is fixed.
I bought mine from the man who collects and repairs vacuum cleaners.
I just wish that I would have the original floor tool.
But then again I most likely use turbo tool for my large carpeted area and parquet tool for the bare floors.
All my tools have 32mm fitting and AEG has 35mm. So I have to use adapter to make all my tools to fit this vacuum.

AEG and Volta. Start of my collection.

I love the top side cord reel!!!! That is an excellent feature that makes it so much easier to pull out the cord and retract it - even when the canister is stood on its end.

This is a totally underrated feature that needs to return to the market. Are you hearing this Miele and Sebo and Panasonic and Electrolux?

That top side cord reel is very nice feature. No bending down. If you use the machine a lot then you really appreciate it.
I guess nowadays it would "ruin" look of the vac :)

About differences between AEG and Volta:
Rotating top side hose makes manoeuvring the AEG much easier. It's has also more suction, but Volta has slightly better build quality. If you watch ibaisaic
review about Electrolux 2020 (Same as Volta), you know what I mean. Volta also has easily replaceable micro filter. In AEG you have to screw off the upper motor housing.
