I'm looking into carpet cleaning methods that are alternatives to steam cleaning. Reason being is because I want to deep clean my mom's carpet without having to buy/rent a carpet cleaner. I would under normal circumstances look for said machine to do the job, but the carpets in our house are "long overdue for replacement" in my mom's words. They do have 20+ years worth of stains in them, after all. It's a shame, as I really like them since they're very 90s and 2000s esc.

Anyways, I just need something that I can throw down on the carpet, have it fluffen up/lighten up the stains as much as possible, then vacuum or otherwise clean up. I don't plan on buying a dedicated machine like a Sebo Duo for this either.

Any ideas?
