AB Electrolux Sells Eureka Division to Chinese Company

This purchase by Midea may not be such a bad thing for Eureka. It seems to be a real appliance power house with experience in the design and manufacture of home appliances. Best thing is, they seem to be on the verge of major infrastructure investments in the USA which hopefully means more jobs for Americans.

Here is a news article about the groundbreaking for a new R&D facility in Kentucky. All the men in the photo seem to be American executives of the Chinese company:

Sorry! Two of the guys in the photo are government people: the Mayor of Louisville and the Democratic rep of the State. The other two men are American executives of Midea.

Research

and development usually precludes manufacturing, but not always in the same locale.
Empty space does cost money if has to be climate controlled, and taxes paid on it, but sometimes, that expense is a tax deduction.
Companies establish a real estate arm that is a separate entity and lease the property back to the company. Rent can be tax deductible especially if the space is empty, at least for a period of time not always indefinitely.

That's a shame, Eureka was my 2nd favorite department store brand because I've always liked their vacuums when I grew up. I'm not sure if Electrolux (Sweden) will continue to sell Sanitaires or not but someday I hope that they can go back to those old sounding metal motors instead of today's plastic garbage sounding motor. Those Powr-Flite Sanitaire versions are made by Sanitaire (Not Tacony).

I asked on a thread not long ago about how Aerus is doing latley but I haven't gotten an answer yet. Instead I find that more franchises appear to be closing rather than opening more franchises so that's one bad news, however I hear that they are coming out with more products that consumers would be very interested in looking into so that one good news. This still isn't in my plans but I still wouldn't mind opening a Aerus franchise because I still think they have really nice products that's one of the best on the market. But I rather open my own business because there are other companies that I know are better than Aerus like Tacony, ESSCO, Sanitaire, Royal, MD, etc. Even if I still wanted to sell something that's very much like an Aerus, I would sell the Perfect canister and the Proteam Uprights. I hear my current vacuum store company is expanding more stores in my county so that's something I'm looking into if I change my mind about being in the vacuum business.
