Uhhhh...

I'm not quite sure how to respond...

The proper response would have been to say.....Rick, you have a lot of nerve hi-jacking Dave's thread.

It turned into something I didn't think it would (meant as a joke) and I wish now I hadn't done it. It seemed cute at the time.

My apologies Dave.

Apologize all ya want, rick,it worked wonders for me. Working these 10.5 hr days while eagerly & trepidaciously awaiting the end game of my current Subaru crisis I can use all the comic relief I can get.
Friday morning - test drivin' the turbo!!!
Dave at workies...

Dave what happened to your car...all was fine when you were here. Hope we didn't jinx it by talking about it.

Long story best told in full at a later time, Pete. It was r

Let's just say, it was major bottom end crankshaft failure that would require the engine block separated into halves to fix. Got the word this morning. My cost - over $4000 including labour. The 1998 black GT now belongs to the dealership.

This morning - Friday - I test drove a regular aspirated green 2006 Subaru Outback and an XT Turbo Outback. No contest - Turbo made my pecker stand on end, if ya get my drift...

Wheedled and dealed and bargained and signed the papers for this 2006 Blue over Graphite 255 HP Subaru XT Turbo Outback with all the bells and whistles. At the very end I asked for a free trailer towing package and installation...and got it! It was close but that was the seal-breaker for me - I woulda walked and waited for the next one to come along but these turbos are scarce to come by. I also rolled the full dark window tint into the package and so that's paid for and I can have it done at my leisure in August or September. The hitch is going on as I type.

Oddly and in usual Davy Twingle fashion, with my hefty down payment + the trade-in, the monthly over 4 years on this new XT is only $4 more than what I was paying for the 98 over 5 years! It's all so unbelievable I'm pinching myself and being ridiculously giddy.

Car will be driven away by me on Monday or more likely Tuesday.

Now back to gawd damn life interrupting workies. :-)

Dave

Lucky you were so close to home when it happened. At least you got a few more years out of it than I got with the white driveway decoration at my place when the engine on it went. Looks like a nice car...

btw got my new a/c installed in the house today and we needed it. I'm happy. cools like a SOB.

aye it would have been much sadder and a big tow bill if you'd been in Toledo or Detroit when she went kaput

"big tow bill if you'd been in Toledo or Detroit wh

Don't I know it and owe the Guardian Angel Twingle big time.

Dodged a f**kin' cannonball on this one.

The other good development is that I owe nothing to the Dealership for the tow from home driveway or the exploratory surgery. I get to start fresh with the new car with no outstanding bills.

But this is now kinda funny. When the handsome salesman took my license and insurance info he kept mumbling "March 2, March 2nd...you guessed it - that's his birthday too. The big handsome football player lug type of Pisces with big hands...and feets. :-) Will be sure to get The Handing Over Of The Keys pictures...several...

But the other reason he was mumbling is...the expiry dates were 2009! Tonight I found the correct and up-to-date insurance renewal letter and papers and the notice to renew license in back of the mail rack. He called the local office and all I need to do is go in with my info and they'll set me all legal again. Whew. Imagine the horror if I'd been stopped or even worse - broke down in the USA...

So, off to the License Office at 9 AM Saturday on the electric scooter then in to work for another two show day.

Thanks for the Apex nozzle info, Doug. And with this new Subaru there is no doubt I am coming to Moose Jaw this winter.

Dave, running on sleep deprived fumes.

Oh, Rick, I totally didn't mean it like that!
It's all in good spirits! :-)

That shirt fits you just wonderfully!

Congrats on the new car, Dave! You should post your car adventure in the "First Car" thread in the off topic forum...

I will when I have it, which could be Monday but more likely I shall have to pick it up one morning next week, put it in the garage and e-bike my way to work at noon for more 10 hour days all next week. :-(

At which time I'll also have to start the thread about the amazing Junque Shop in St Marys.
