Funny Funny Johnny

No one has to tell me anything I usually call all my friends Johnny Danny Sammy Jimmy Freddy ect . To set the record straight Johnny Gregory and I never discuss you Johnny Long you are of no interest to our conversations .

I am sure your dishes are nice that never phased me as my interests are real estate vacuums cars Tiffany lamps bicycles men and woman .

Dishes I let that up to the ladies in my life ;) I am in no way into the feminine side of entertaining
I would rather hang with my buds discussing cars and Real Estate investments .

Ironed Bed Sheets

I do starch and iron my bedding.  Gracious  living exists in my home.  Although I have a crazy professional life with very little down time, I make the time to iron everything.  When you have a Rowenta steam generator, ironing is quick and easy.

My home is my sanctum and I do everything in my power to make sure everything is always perfect for me.  I do it for myself and no one else, and I do not care what anyone thinks about it.  As someone who has made their own way in life with absolutely no help from anybody, I literally could care less about what other people think.  It is all about me, my family, and my friends.

Richard that is

so cool my Nanny did that all the time I wish I was into that but I am not . I just have a regular Rowenta not a steam generator that's too much for my needs.

Clean sheets once a week is enough for me I only wish I could have time to hang them outside that smell is amazing .

Yes hard work is what its all about I have come from a family where we all work very hard and earn everything we have , nothing was ever handed to anyone in my family.

I so love this iPhone I would be lost without it :) keeps me up to date on the go .

Pickard China

<span style="font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif; font-size: small;">John,</span>

<span style="font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif; font-size: small;">I am quite familiar with Pickard China.  A long time family friend has an extensive collection of Pickard.  At her home, Gloria and I are the only people permitted to wash it.</span>

<span style="font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif; font-size: small;">In my profession, you also become very comfortable working with fine china, crystal, and silver.  </span>

<span style="font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif; font-size: small;">Stay well,</span>

I will say,

I'm glad I'm not a part of your conversations, as, there IS no need for me to be whatsoever.Sadly, I HAVE been the topic of numerous conversations..........most were not very kind at all, but, no more details needed there. You have he are great friends. He and I are not. I feel you are both cut from the same cloth, a great match, the perfect match, don't you agree? I have ALWAYS said he was a great technician and salesman. No one could EVER deny that. We are from very, very different worlds, and will remain as such. That is fine too. So, I'll say no more about that. I've said far more than I ever intended to about that.
Pics of the dinnerware will follow for those who enjoy that sort of thing. Bon appetite!

Andy!

Thanks, very much. Ther ARE fun.....great folks, even if they bring vacuums "of another species". Fear not!! I go through the place "later" with a commercial HOOVER. Oh, yes, I have a sense of humor!
You are welcome here. If/when you're ever near here,(Pocono area) please know that you are most welcome here.
John.

I know nothing of dishes, but...

I was curious about this Pickard you mentioned John. Their logo features an American flag, so they're a very patriotic company stating on the website: "Proudly made in America since 1893"!! See link below for them. I love things made in America. All of the Hoovers that I own are models made in the U.S before the China merge. The Rainbow systems I now sell are American made. The only thing not made in the United States on the Rainbow is the belt!!!

I love entertaining but living in a townhouse currently makes that difficult. However these past two weeks I have had house guests on several nights. Friends going through relationship problems needing a getaway and also friends moving into town needing a place to stay while their current housing is a mess from all the moving, etc. I love opening up my door and helping people out. I also love contributing dishes to parties I attend. I never like appearing somewhere empty handed. Whether homemade or store bought the gesture makes me feel like I've done a good deed!! It's fun when friends come together to contribute to a meal. It adds to conversation but all of the neat dishes and you learn more about various peoples eating habits. My biggest food issues involve the avoidance of: swiss cheese, olives- on side only, not cooked into things, soda and fizzy drinks, swiss cheese, bleu cheese, figs, prunes, sauerkraut, baby corn, peas- except in Minestrone soup, chick peas- I tolerate hummus though and eggs are scrambled dry with some browning or Deviled eggs-- no runny liquid of any form I rarely touch hard boiled eggs. Sausage is tolerable, hopefully it's sweet or spicy Italian if that's the only option available. Oh yes and did I mention NO swiss cheese and no soda!?!? I love Tomato Sauces especially a spicy Arrabiata!!! A good pasta gravy I could eat bowls of just like someone eating Tomato Soup. I like pizza best with more sauce than cheese. I can't do extra cheese and could never do a stuffed cheese crust!!! Pickles or relish on just about sandwich is a must. Sauteed onions and peppers are spectacular on everything just about.

I rarely use paper plates. On occasion yes, but it's very rare!! My plate preference is the heavy duty thick deep colored plates that many restaurants use, similar to picture below. I do a lot of pasta in my house and I love being able to melt cheese on an item on a plate in the oven. I also just like something of substantial quality, being able to cut meat without slicing through the plate or having gravies absorb into the plate. If I do dinner rolls, I wrap them in a towel or cloth dinner napkin rather than a paper napkin or paper towel.

I try to be as green as possible!!! don't like increasing what's in landfills. I try to recycle whatever I can--plastic bags go to grocery store, papers, and plastics, etc. go to their recycling bins, old chargers and ink cartridges go to Best Buy collection. This is another reason one of my favorite vacuums is the Hoover PowerMax series. It's a very powerful, excellent cleaning system power team canister series that tended to primarily range from 9.3- 9.8 Amps depending on when it was produced, and was a great energy saver compared to most every other manufacturers 12 Amp canister systems. The Futura/ PowerMax series had a good run from around 1989 to 2006 respectively with a few changes here and there.
And pictures will be up soon but I just got another gem of that series a childhood vac and model that was my first of the Hoover PowerMax's to experience!!!

I've never had a personal chef or catering team in my home. It's my home and kitchen and I'll set it and have it run as I please with out the ugly chaffing dishes and other generic things they may have. I'd rather have things put back where I want them rather than how they might leave it. Growing up we had a cleaning lady every week. Our home was big and it would take me over 10 hours just to clean the house when in 6 hours Jeanette could iron about 15 garments, and have the place dusted, vacuumed, mopped, and bathrooms in a 3 floor home with dog hair!! Not everything was perfect at the end of her day but it was a blessing compared to what we could accomplish and everything looked good!

I love pitching in to help at friends gatherings too!!! The more hands the merrier!! Working in restaurants of over 12 years I have a passion for kitchen work. Not that washing dishes is a favorite but it's a definite need. At my house I try to wash a lot of the big stuff as soon as it's done being used and have a fair bit of the cooking pots done with before meal is ready to eat. Bussing the table, wiping table, prepping produce, drying dishes, etc. is no trouble and the least I could do for someone that worked very hard and was generous enough to open up their home to house a party and provide a wonderful meal!!! Vacuuming the dining room after a meal would be my pleasure too of course. Especially during the spring and summer when bugs can be a nuisance then vacuuming dining room and mopping kitchen after a gathering is a necessity!!

Rob,

you are a very easy guest to have in a home. This, I know.I never knew, though, that you lie to vacuum the diningroom AFTER dinner. I'll remember that for the next time. Instead of "after dinner mint?", I'll say,"After dinner vacuum"?There are many here from which to choose. Some of our mini meets saw dinner at the kitchen table. Here's a memory from yrs ago. I didn't know you back then. We even had HOOVER fondue!

You are too kind John!!!

Crepes are wonderful!!! What sort of filling was in the Hoover Crepes? I love the spread at your meals but now you have me enticed on the milk shakes, fondues and other Hoover dishes!! Vacuuming anywhere is fun. Usually after your dinners John we all tend to hang out in the living room and it does get its fair share of cleaning, 1st from the foreign species and lastly with usually a mixture of a Hoover Power nozzle canister, and Convertible. Your Decade 800 and Guardsman do a bang up job as I'm sure you're well aware!! Sometime I'll have to try one of your orange commercial units. I don't recall ever using one of those. Following numerous dinners at my parents house I used to vacuum the dining room at my house after family gatherings and I did the same on numerous occasions at my grandmoms and aunts. While our Labrador Retrievers did a great job of most of it, there was always some food that the Hoovers would find keeping the homes pest free from unwanted tiny insects.

Anything I can ever do to help at a MiniMeet feel free to ask!! I don't like for a host to have to do it all. Friends helping friends is great!

The crepes have ben filled with

ham and cheese. I'm also known for whipping up a mean Mocha crepe! Some time when you're here. I have a few 'Commercial" cleaners: Red Guardsman, Portapower, including one NEW IN BOX. Thee are a few uprights, too. One is a beautiful gifet from Rick Asquith. You'll see a nice selection, and may use them all if you'd like. I plan to get that tan Celebrity up and going. I also have 4 of those big heavy British Commercials!!

Hoover Hoods!!!

The Hoover hoods are terrific for snacks: pretzels, chips. I could even see a towel inside and using them as a garlic bread holder!!! Or we could go diner style and instead of basket of fries or 21 shrimp in a basket it could be 21 Shrimp in a hood-- put some wax paper inside!! Fries or potato wedges, fried shrimp, breaded haddock---oooohh. I'll bring the coleslaw if we do this, what would fish and chips be without coleslaw and of course a good Cocktail sauce???? If we do Chicken fingers then I'll take some of your fine Italian pasta sauce for dipping. No honey mustard here, but thanks anyway!!

I usually think of crepes as dessert. Not sure I've heard of a ham and cheese crepe but really it's whatever you stuffed it with. We could a chicken florentine crepe then I supposed! Or maybe a BLT Crepe. Dessert style or brunch stuff is always fun: blueberries, peaches, rasberries, whipped cream. All this food is making me Verklempt. Bad timing for going to bed. Crepes with ..... you fill in the blank, Discuss!!!

Joel and Chris could do a bang up job on the tan Celebrity's motors and electical system and entire machine. I'd be glad to help with the power head, cleaning and new foam insulation.

I've seen a few of your Portapowers and your Guardsman upright. I know that you have some of those Orange colored commerical units with black colored bumper. I think one of them is in your dining room closet. Would be fun to try one of those. And if you have the relish model, I'd love to try that!!!

Oh yes fun times ahead whenever we meet again. Till we Meet Again!!!

Dear god I looked awful in that picture.........not too sure I appreciate that being dug up from the bowels of hell.

Can you believe that was 6 or 7 years ago already?

(For anybody wondering or who has not seen a recent photograph of me, I swear I don't look like a textbook dork anymore)
