VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

The huge irony with SEBO is that they have secured worldwide sales of their commercial vacuums before developing the domestic X model. Like every other brand, SEBO also used components from the previous to build the next and so on.

But the difference is, that unlike Hoover Europe, SEBO's parts are largely always available for the X series. I wish I could have got the same kind of widespread availability on other brands' parts - Hoover for example where brush rolls on certain Turbopower uprights are no longer available. The casings, yes, but not the entire brush roll. And sometimes it doesn't feel as good when using a second hand one compared to a genuine new part in a bag ready to go. It's not just Hoover, but other brands that suffer from this too.

One has to remember that though most brands are not commercially based, perhaps there's something there in having commercial links to allow almost lifetime parts availability - same with Numatic infact!

sebofan...Rember, the Turbopowers are no longer available to purchase new unlike the X-series Sebo uprights, so there is no need to stock anything other than bags, belts and bulbs for exsisting models, the more frequent consumables.

The SEBO C series is no longer available to buy yet all parts are available for that model, Alex.

On Miele's UK site, it has only been in the last three years that parts such as spare bin doors, castors and other wear items on their no longer produced certain models are available to buy.

Electrolux also supply a lot of parts for their vacuums no longer produced.

Why can't Hoover? Why did I require to order a specialised part for a Hoover vacuum, currently in production but yet had to be bought in from Hoover in Germany when Hoover UK should have stocked the part?

What's with the Sebo vs. Hoover thing again? Kind of irrelevant since the Hoover company that made those cleaners no longer exists. The Sebo vs. Miele comparison was more appropriate given that they're competing machines.

Sebo recommend replacing both filters with every 20 bags, but to be honest, 20 bags will probably last me about 10 years lol. I replace both filters once a year

yes, but you're using paper bags in a dirty fan cleaner. By default of the design, it will need changing more often. The ultra bag coupled with the top fill and filter set up mean that you can seriously cram the bag full. I don't change it until the bag is full to the top.

Emma, it may appear to be half full, but you can keep using it and using it. The top fill design means that the dirt is constantly being compacted and squashed down, so everytime you use it, you'll get more and more in it. The bag will be rock solid by the time you need to replace it.

Although a different set up the Felix has a top fill bag and that compacts the dirt so it's like a brick when it's full. They last me around 3 months with having a pet so the X series bag would last around 5 months being another 2 litres more.

I've put a little sticker inside the bag compartment so I know when I last changed the bag and also so I can see how long each bag roughly lasts me.
