use a computer... also if you think that the commercial plays on the wayback machine you're wrong it downloads the commercial, look down and it will say something like Altima_copper.mpg or Optima_copper.mpg, sorry if you got confused by that

If ya didn't notice I posted I'm not on computer. I also mentioned a media player but I'm on my phone.

Yeah for anyone reading this, when you click the link, it directs you to a blank page and then a save dialog pops up for the video, which then you can open with VLC.

Great commercials, I wonder if these were only put on their website? I have never seen them before.

I actually have both these vacuums and they are amazingly good. The Optima is a great compact vacuum, works great in RV's and travel trailers, and it will not swallow your throw rugs.

I have an optima myself, i love it, i got the green model specialy beacause my favorite color is green, speaking about their website if you go to the wayback machine and search up www.eureka.com and then go to the listings on 2006 and you can find these commercials on the vacuum profiles...

I have a blue one. it works well but it is missing one of the NLA rear wheels :-(.

The Altimas I thought were decent machines, I wouldn't mind owning the red and/or the blue one for my collection. I have one of the original Optimas that has since been put into retirement. It's a good little vacuum, never really had that much of a problem for it being a bagless. However my criticisms for it were the lack of parts that were available, I could not get a replacement hose holder for it when mine broke. And the hose is clear which makes it look disgusting after it got dirty. I hate vacuums that have those hoses. Have I would've known sooner in the first place, I would've gotten a Sanitaire S782 for our trailer instead.

I'd say if all online options have come up empty, check mom and pop vacuum shops for NLA parts. If the owner is a hoarder and loves to save things - good chance he might have one.

I have several vacuums that are crippled by just 1 single broken part I cannot find, and it drives me crazy. I haven't checked vacuum shops yet, but I have a feeling the ones around here might. I remember last time I was in a local shop the owner had an upstairs room of the building (it was a converted Sears Craftsman home with a large shop added onto the front porch and the shop being in the living room and the old kitchen was the work room) and I remember looking up the off-limits staircase and there was just boxes and boxes of parts just chucked up there willy-nilly and spilled all over and it had cobwebs on the railings, and I seen old utility shelves sitting in one of the rooms. It looked like nobody had been up there for decades.

Optimas are really good since they don't eat every carpet like a shark.

Optimas are quick vacs. They DO NOT replace a full upright.

No they're not, they're lightweight uprights, It's basicly a upright with just half the weight, also it is capable to replace a crappy shark.

He is right, you have to own an Optima to know, they are full fledged uprights, just more compact. That's why I said they are amazing for RV's and campers. They fit right in the tiny camper closets or in a corner. Eureka really missed the mark on this vacuum. If they would have pushed the marketing more to RV'ers they would have flew off the shelves like nobody's business.

It has a 12 amp motor! It is by no means at all a quick pickup vac or a dustbuster. They have a lot of power to them. I never had any trouble pulling beach sand out of my travel trailer carpeting. I even used it outdoors on the patio rug where it picked up bits of gravel, leaves, dirt, etc.

One thing you have to make sure of is you keep the filter clean. If the vacuum suffocates, the cord will start getting really hot.

I never changed the filter on mine and it still works fine but once I give it a complete teardown, wash, and rebuild, it will have new parts if I can still get them. In 2016 the handle was available online, but it seems like now it isn't.

I'd like to testify that the Optima is about just as good as a full size upright. Even the Optima when we first got it was advertised to be the same power as a full size upright. Other than that one part on our Optima that broke, it was nearly a perfect vacuum for our 2005 KZ Frontier 2405 trailer that we used to have. Like what huskyvacs said, we had ours in a tiny closet that was a perfect fit. There was no way a full size upright or canister would ever fit in there. What I really liked was I was able to turn off the brushroll to vacuum bare floors since we had a mixture of rugs and bare floors. Unfortunately now we use a broom in our new trailer which is a 2018 KZ Connect C281BH which is why we don't use the Optima anymore. The Sanitaire would've also been excellent for the Frontier but one thing that I did liked better on the Optima was it saved from having to buy bags since the filters were washable. I did bought generic Arm & Hammer filters to improve on the filtration but I founded them to be worse than the washable filters. But yeah it was a good performing vacuum, for a compact sized upright. Would I buy one of these again if they were still making them? Of course I would. Just again the only changes I wished they would've done better was selling more individual parts and not make the hose look clear. What I fixed on mine when the hose holder broke was I used strapping tape around the end of the hose and where the hose holder used to be at.
