Hi Owen! The unit is in storage now, I hope to get it out this summer sometime and really clean it up, reseal it at the seams. I opened it up to give an initial cleanout, but when I put it back together, it didn't seal properly. I'll have to redo the seals. I will keep you posted!

Miele hoses I would encourage anybody reading this thread who is concerned about the durability of Miele's hoses to search for used Mieles on Ebay, Craigslist, etc. and look at the pictures. You will be hard pressed to find cracked hoses on any of those machines, some of which are 15+ years old.

That is an S300 series, similar to the White Star except this has the slide speed control instead of the knob that the White Star had. This was probably produced mid-to late 90's. I found this in an antique store yesterday. I'd looked around, but there were no vacuums. Usually if that's the case I just walk, but I asked the owner if she ever ran across old vacs. She said "Oh, I've got one in the basement, I'll bring it up". Moral of the story is always ask!!
