Hi Guys, Are convertibles good for cleaning this type of carpet or are they better on low pile carpeting? Anyone had any experience vacuuming with the plastic convertibles on thick carpeting? does it still get deep down grit? just curious.

no beater bars the simplicity has 4 rows of very stiff bristles on a metal roller..so do u think the metal beater bars on the convertible might be the trick?

Hi Guys.. ok i did my own lil comparison with two vacs... my trusty ol hoover convertible u4411 and i had the privledge to try out a simplicity symmetry for a day.. well.. i was suprised! I put a clean bag in my hoover and vacuumed the whole house with the Simplicity ..took off the Simplicity...

not sure i would think so... its just a small rubber belt that fits snuggly on the tube.

i used a lark belt that i got off ebay and i think there was a spring on there too recently.. not sure how much they were asking but i paid like $5 for the lark belt thats with shipping

well i've found out that it doesn't happen when i have the machine running on normal low speed... its when its been running on HI that it slips.

Awesome!! I acquired mine for free! It belonged to my aunt and she told me to take it. So of course I did :-) lol it sat in her upstairs closet for years. Just cleaned it up put new belts and a bag good to go. My carpets look new again
