Is there some kind of bag or new style cone in the top machine? I don't see the cyclonic diverter thingy on the new model. Other than that, I'm tapped out on ideas! John

There have always been production differences with vacuum models, and the long-run Hoover machines are no exception. Even the Electrolux Model G had at least 4 variations if you include the Hospital G. But I am questioning if that's the case with the new Hoover canister. I visited last month...

It does not have the button lock like the Kenmore canisters did at the time. I wonder if it was a "fit all" power nozzle that Sears sold for use on any vacuum. Indeed, a very nice find! John

It is a later version McAlister. These were sold in the 40's and 50's. They look very much like a Fairfax, but I do not know if there is actually a connection between the companies. I understand the suction is actually quite good with these little vacs. John

I have noticed that the ProLux and the Sanitaire commercial uprights are almost identical. But the Sanitaire costs less. Is it the name or quality of manufacture?

All in all, not so bad for a 30+ year old commercial machine made of metal. The brush roll could be wire brushed and polished if the metal is not too thin, the same for the brush housing and the tongue of metal at the bag attachment. I have never seen a 91, 913, or 918 NOT run! A testament to...

In one of the Blondie movies, a Hoover 150 plays a big part. A hotel super is using the vacuum in the lobby and it quits working. Dagwood and a friend become so intrigued with the vac they sneak it to their room and attempt to service the machine. Is this the same movie you are talking about...

You might try JB Weld, in sparing amounts, to piece the jigsaw back together. It is disappointing to see this machine fractured due to lack of care. That needs to be stated in the seller's feedback. John
