New Canister Needed

Hey Jim, I have a totally complete and unabused Miele White Pearl that I could let go. It was the TOL machine when bought in 1996. The power nozzle cover shows some wear from use, but the other attachments and the machine are very nice. Email me if interested, [email protected], John

Very hard to find parts abound

    OOOPS, not a good sign....

    Filter queen prototype

Is there some kind of bag or new style cone in the top machine? I don't see the cyclonic diverter thingy on the new model. Other than that, I'm tapped out on ideas! John

    Hoover Anniversary canister has arrived!

There have always been production differences with vacuum models, and the long-run Hoover machines are no exception. Even the Electrolux Model G had at least 4 variations if you include the Hospital G. But I am questioning if that's the case with the new Hoover canister. I visited last month...

    What is this for

It does not have the button lock like the Kenmore canisters did at the time. I wonder if it was a "fit all" power nozzle that Sears sold for use on any vacuum. Indeed, a very nice find! John

    91 Elux Special edition

Oh, I remember this machine! Service Merchandise carried Electrolux vacuums in the late 80's-early 90's and this was one of them. It was strange to see an Electrolux in a mass merchandising store at the time, but in fact was a portend of things to come. IIRC, this model was priced $499. SM also...

    Pushed to Riccar

I have the Riccar 1700, just one model below the TOL 1800, and I can only give rave reviews of it. It is extremely well made, the attachments are high quality, the suction excellent and easily controlled from the handgrip, and it has the cloth-type disposable bags that don't leak dust. It is...

    Miele Comparison

Jay, I also have a White Pearl and would love to trade up to a Blue Moon, Red Velvet or a S5 unit like the Aquarius. I have come close to buying an Aquarius but deep down want a nice S 600 series cleaner with the 1200 W motor. Miele does indeed build a high quality machine, and they are a joy...

    "Convac"

It is a later version McAlister. These were sold in the 40's and 50's. They look very much like a Fairfax, but I do not know if there is actually a connection between the companies. I understand the suction is actually quite good with these little vacs. John

Quiet, powerful, high filtration upright commercial vac

Thank you all for suggestions. I need to keep the purchase price under $300, so I'll watch ebay auctions for some deals. I already have a Sebo 370 at home that may make its way to the office. John

Quiet, powerful, high filtration upright commercial vac

I have noticed that the ProLux and the Sanitaire commercial uprights are almost identical. But the Sanitaire costs less. Is it the name or quality of manufacture?

Quiet, powerful, high filtration upright commercial vac

for my office. We have low pile commercial carpeting, no pad, glued to the floor. Our cleaning service does many things well, just not vacuuming the floor. They bring their own Orecks with broken fans, etc and push them too fast to actually pick anything up. My employees are going to take turns...

    G.E. Roll-Easy colors

Yellow Roll Easy Yes, Charles, there is a former member who absolutely insists he has seen one in this color. The expression on his face made me believe it. Another Holy Grail to find? John

    My Hoover 918

All in all, not so bad for a 30+ year old commercial machine made of metal. The brush roll could be wire brushed and polished if the metal is not too thin, the same for the brush housing and the tongue of metal at the bag attachment. I have never seen a 91, 913, or 918 NOT run! A testament to...

    Beautiful Art Deco Hoover Brochure

John, So good to hear from you! Thanks for the great scans - your paper collection is phenomenal. You, and the others here who have ailing loved ones, are on my mind and I pray for healing. I would love to visit with you again - it has been a long time since Portland! John Y

    tv series vacs

I remember seeing the green Convertible on Mama's Family - a miracle because I've watched the show only a couple times - and it looked BRAND NEW. The machine was at least 25 years old by that time. I would love to know how they found it. Someone said it was a model 66. I don't remember it being...

    Hoovers in Blondie films!

A big thanks for putting these clips together! The way the movies were filmed and directed the Hoovers were practically stars, too. John

The Vacuum Cleaner in the Movie...

In one of the Blondie movies, a Hoover 150 plays a big part. A hotel super is using the vacuum in the lobby and it quits working. Dagwood and a friend become so intrigued with the vac they sneak it to their room and attempt to service the machine. Is this the same movie you are talking about...

    Lewyt 105

You might try JB Weld, in sparing amounts, to piece the jigsaw back together. It is disappointing to see this machine fractured due to lack of care. That needs to be stated in the seller's feedback. John
