Hoover vacuum cleaners were prominently featured in three of the Blondie films.

Here [see link below] is a web project I have been working on for quite some time. It contains a brief description of each film, then a slide show of screen captures from them.

Enjoy!

Thanks Charlie! Who knew Blondie was such a trail blazer in "product placement?" That first sequence reminds me a bit of what I just finished with my 150 project.

Possible Double Post - If So, So Sorry!

Thanks Charlie!

Who knew Blondie was such a trail blazer in product placement? I should have rented that first movie before I tackled my 150 quintuplets. Of course, all the bags would have ended up upside-down and backwards.

What fun!

I remember watching the hotel movie when I was a kid, the inner-tube bag thing has been done many times!
I am not certain if thats a model 700 or a 725, it does appear to have a band around the motor, which would be a 725.
The 3rd movie with the dogs is definitely not a model 28, the movie was made in '41, the 28 did not come out until 1946. What Blondie has is a 305.
Nice to see the old Hoovers!

A big thanks for putting these clips together! The way the movies were filmed and directed the Hoovers were practically stars, too.

John

thanks Charles, It was great to see those clips, as I remember them well from the early days of Black and white TV.
I was wondering how a Hoover 28 got into a 1941 flim clip.
Yes, Jeff, thanks a 305.
Norm

Yes, several people have pointed out that the "28" is a 305. Sorry, I never claimed to be a Hoover expert! I'll make that change to the web page.

Ditto for the 700/725. If it's indeed a 725 I'll change that as well.
