Todays find: A Royal pot canister

These are nice cleaners. I've also seen them under the "Kingston" and "Sani-Way" names.

For Spats, Hoover Convertible lower bearing maintenance

Oh of course, now I place the cleaner/hood/bag combo in my mind. Yes Tom, I did actually see the indent for the emblem, and that I think is what threw me into thinking it was a "regular hood" convertible that Jeff had stripped to repaint, which didn't seem unusual to me for someone experienced...

For Spats, Hoover Convertible lower bearing maintenance

Jeff it appears your in the midst of restoring this cleaner's paint as well, but I notice the bag is yet another variation of the 1076/728 design. What model is this?

    Hoover Convertible

Yay, another very nice 728! I didn't realize until these recent posts that the 728's bag is basically identical to the 1076's, except the color scheme is different to match the hood.

No dyson Did Not Invent It!!

Right Seamus, and if I'd been *really* observant, I would have noticed that your cleaner doesn't have the UK style connector. Many of your Hoovers there were a bit more button down in color and design than those we had here.

Seamusuk, I believe we had that one over here too. Don't recall the model number. Very fun!

No dyson Did Not Invent It!!

Wow, that U4001 is one I've never seen before, with the orange base and beige hood, it's almost kind of a reverse from what they typically would do! A couple of our neighbors had 1076s and I thought they were really neat. I have the 728, with the same bag of a different hue and the traditional...

    Kingston Deluxe Vacuum Cleaner

Ah, there it is! Very pretty! I was told by someone that Kingstons are a Royal derivative that were sold door to door. I know I've seen the name on Royal style canisters as well. Anyone know any more about this?

    p o d

They are a fun and very powerful machine. My friend Michael has one. The Vibrabeat feature is just a scream. The tools on these older cleaners are just so substantial and nice compared to many you get today.

    Can you spot the difference?

The Denim Convertible was my first Hoover in my collection. It's very cool. Mine says it was made in Canada, don't know if any of this type were ever made in North Canton. It has a metal base and a somewhat more powerful motor than older Convertibles. The high speed is energized by raising the...

    Queen Mary Hoover!

I remember vividly seeing that one when I was there and thought the double cord hook was interesting! Being the ship was put out of service in 1967, that would still have been Hoover's heyday, so I'm betting there were pretty much always commercial Hoovers on board. I'm sure Buckingham Palace...

Rocketwarrior, I was raised in suburban Minneapolis. The area you speak of is very nice. I like Green Lake!

    Vacuums from my friend Patrick....

What wonderful cleaners! The 589 is one of my favorites. It's just so...out there (LOL). The Grand Marquis to me is the last good Electrolux that was made.

I remember seeing that beautiful blue one when I was at your house during one of the conventions. Very nice!

    Brand New Hoover Polisher!!

The pink one is the one I have back in Minnesota. I bought it at an estate sale. It might be slightly older than the orange one, as my parents' does not have Hoover on the plug, and my pink one does.

Very cool! You appear to have a lot of very nice things!

    Brand New Hoover Polisher!!

My parents have that one, have had it since new. Is the liquid dispensing "can" and bracket inside? Or, I wonder if perhaps you had to buy those items separately. I also have a pink one in this style, that one is in Minnesota with my ex. It has a sort of hanging vinyl closet organizer thing...
