Round Hoover Belts Snap To Quick!!

You stole our kettle!!! Okay, maybe not, but we have the same one, s'okay I guess, the mother bought it last year when she finally got the keys to this house, to make coffee when she was nosing round the new place, didn't seem to bring the whistling cooker-top kettle, so that electric one has...

    Commercial Vacuums

That Sebo reminds me of the retro phones sold on ebay pretending to be GPO replicas with the Union Flag slapped on them, except they're american design phones (based on the Western Electric 500 shape) and made in china.... :&#92

Round Hoover Belts Snap To Quick!!

When people ask me why I bother with "that old crap" (in reference to pretty much anything I have collected), I tell them that it's already outlived their "new crap" and will outlive every other bit of "new crap" they buy to replace the ones that break, that usually shuts them up... :P

British hoover purepower. In the usa!

Gotta love it when two companies own one name, I wonder if they'll end up with one of the two Hoovers being renamed like how Aerus did from Electrolux when Electrolux bought back their name, just to stop the confusion... :&#92

British hoover purepower. In the usa!

I think all I did with my PP was just dismantle it and drop it in the recycling bin (saving parts I wanted to keep for spares), before moving, I found that the bearings from it's brushroll fitted the brushroll in the Vax quicklite I had, so they went in there, the power cable went onto my Junior...

    Commercial Vacuums

A few years ago, I almost bought one of them Hoover commercials (the older model without the massive bumper, can't recall which model no. it was), I was put off by the weight of it, and the fact that the bag it had had a few holes, so, I left it... My favourite over-the-top massive commercial...

British hoover purepower. In the usa!

The Hoover DustManager is the same as a PurePower, but with a bagless unit fitted into the front rather than having a bag chamber... :S Incidentally, that clearance store had a couple of dustmanagers, one in a sorry state (probably used, abused and returned as NFFP (Not Fit For Purpose)), the...

Round Hoover Belts Snap To Quick!!

I'd say your bearings in the brushroll are shot, or the belts you got were a bad batch... The weird thing about Hoover brushroll bearings is they feel loose and wobbly when you check them, even when new, so you can't really tell when they're shot, it's only when they're running that they dhow...

British hoover purepower. In the usa!

Are you sure your house wiring is up to the 2.1 Kilowatts in one lump? Unless you have a 20 Amp breaker on the circuit that you intend to use it on, that thing's going to be popping fuses, I remember my 1.8 Kilowatt Purepoower dimming the lights when it powered up, can't imagine what the 2.1KW...

    Hoover 541 belt?

Tolerance towards others is one thing, but patience towards others is another, being told complete rubbish about one thing used on a vac not being right because it'll destroy something (without proof I might add) when there are more people in the real world who actually know a thing or two about...

    Hoover 541 belt?

Let's just say, I prefer to follow advice from a friend of mine who knows more about electric motors (who isn't on this forum), seeing how they build them for a living, than someone who dresses up like widow twankey, mmmkay? ;) And proper, genuine advice, use Hoover belt number 49258, it's a...

    Hoover 541 belt?

Wasn't saying heshe was wrong, but getting into a flap over a ring of vulcanised rubber is just a bit over the top...

Top Fill Or Bottom Fill Bags?

I got those bags off ebay (according to my feedback, in May 2010, so 2 years ago), they were sealed in a clear plastic bag (could have been re-packed), so don't know how old they were... :&#92 They were as stiff as card though, dunno how on earth they breathed, and they really did poorly even...

    The Cardboard Vax!

You have to remember, where does the cardboard come from before it's made, and where does it go after it's beyond use? New, strong, structural cardboard comes from trees, and not a lot comes from recycled paper as you can only get so much from recycling as the fibres become too weak, so they...

    The Cardboard Vax!

Thing is, a lot of the old "cardboard" vacs were basically a plasticised or varnished paper, so it was an early form of plastic construction, rather than being something that looks more like the inside of a toilet roll coated in paint... Plus, making cardboard vacuums in the sense of the Vax...

    HOOVER Senior Bag Belt

I use the spring retainers like that in my Sanitaires, also used on the Baird dirt meters for Kirbys, I'd recommend them myself as they're a much tighter fit than a rubber belt, and they last forever too... :) Link below is for one, dunno what they'll charge for posting, but as it's small it...

    Never Again I Tell You!

Usually vacuums that use converter pans like that do not have terribly good suction, okay for a bit of dusting, but for vacuuming larger areas like the inside of a car, nah, it's better to use something made for the task, rather than a vac with afterthought tools... :&#92

    Dyson help!

Well, if there's suction at the hose, but no suction at the floor nozzle, that would indicate there's something between the two, like a blockage... Depending on the model, it should have removable inspection tubes, pull those off and locate the blockage, then clear it out and it should work...

    Outer Bag Cleaning Idea

Feed the bag to a Tristar, plenty suction from one of them to clean out dirt without the need for a brushroll... :)
