    Today’s Cleaning Ensemble

I’m feeling a bit nostalgic today, so for my housekeeping duties, I decided to go the classic route! For the few carpeted areas, I used one of my favorite upright vacuums, my Hoover Convertible U4127. This is one of the first uprights I ever remember using as a kid, so it only fitting to have...

    Impulse buy of the year!

Thanks Guys! I just received notification from the seller that it shipped! I think it looks a lot like the Aerus Guardian Platinum as well, which is one of the main draws I had to it! I’ve looked into a step up converter in the event I manage to find enough parts to make a useable machine out...

    Impulse buy of the year!

I needed this thing like I needed a hole in the head, but the price wasn’t too bad and shipping was free! So I am now the owner of a Lux International 220V 1 Royal! Anybody know much about them, or where I might begin my quest to find parts? Thanks!

    My Electrolux model v

Adin Unless, he's gotten rid of it lately, your boss has one that's in REALLY nice condition best I could tell. I tried to talk a blue streak to talk him out of it, but he wouldn't budge on it! LOL!

    Hoover Constellation,

David Based on just a quick search, it appears that the 86 may have been produced around 1958 or 1959? Check out the link below: http://www.automatice.org/cgi-bin/index.cgi?showdoc~381~Hoover~

    My Electrolux model v

He contacted me too.... Same story, $1000 (or a reasonable offer), and shipping on top of it. I don’t have one, and would love to add one to my collection, but there’s no way I can (or will) ante up that kind of money for one, especially a 220V model that I couldn’t even use without some kind...

    Coolest cake ever

Oh wow! Now THATS a cake! I can’t imagine how many hours would be involved in making something like that! It almost looks too good to eat! Hope that little guy had a happy birthday and enjoyed his cake!!

    Electrolux Ultralux LX

Crinkle Finish That crinkle finish was used entirely on another variation of the model 1521 Ultralux..... I personally like the look, although it’s purely aesthetics! Here’s a couple of mine with the crinkle finish and full chrome body.

    Rebuilt Electrolux XII

Charles Something smells fishy with this.......just a few machines below it (if you search eBay for “vintage Electrolux”) is the EXACT SAME machine at a different price point......does that strike anyone else as odd...

    Penncrest sighting

Penncrest Frank, I had forgotten about you posting this here, and as it turns out, I ended up being the one to purchase the vacuum! I haven't tried it out yet, as I just unboxed it, but it appears to be in great shape, AND the hose is still rather flexible! I have some spare bags at home...

    The "Sirena"

I’m confused Markhenry, according to your profile, you’re in the US.......where does the money conversion and transportation costs come into play? The $889 is in USD, and Sirena ships them for free if ordered from them......

    The "Sirena"

Markhenry While I don’t own a Sirena, I wouldn’t mind having one. Once upon a time, I even considered being a dealer for them. As I’m sure you’ve figured out based on the comments from others here, they are NOT associated with Rexair (the company that makes Rainbow). My big question is who...

    Watch out boys...

For a New Product...... It’s not as outrageously priced as I expected! It can be purchased from Walmart for around $169.

    Hoover Convertible U4127?

U4127 Nate, You are indeed correct on your information. This model is the firs plastic base model to be introduced in the late 70’s. I’m not sure the official color names, but it’s a white base and white bag with a grass green hood, trim, and handle grip. It’s a non-headlight model. It’s...

    vintage general electric vacuum

Marryann That's a VERY nice looking GE vac. Like Edgar stated, I know absolutely NOTHING about GE vacs, but considering the shape it's in, and the fact it runs, for what you paid for it, I don't see how you could go wrong. I have paid a LOT more for vacs in a LOT worse condition than yours...

    Defender vacuum

Phillip It’s a rather fascinating story about how the Defender came to be. I’ve spent some time going down this rabbit hole! It’s not a real long article, check it out! http://https//www.farmshow.com/a_article.php?aid=14291

What comes closest today to a 1960 canister Electrolux?

As an owner of a Perfect I can attest to how amazingly powerful this machine is! It will just about suck the paint off the walls. NOW, with that said, there are some things I want to point out to you, especially coming from an Electrolux 1205. As I said, this thing is stupidly powerful, BUT...

    Very odd Defender brand Vacuum

Mike From what I can gather in my research, Mark O’Brien that owned North Country Vac and Sew in St. Johnsbury VT (creator of the Defender F-16 Vacuum) has retired and closed his business. BUT, thanks to the internet, I may have tracked him down to his new home in Danville VT! Here’s the...

    Possible Early XXX on eBay

Perusing eBay tonight, I ran across a Model 30 (XXX) Electrolux that I believe is an early model. It seems to have the correct items I can recall that would put it late 30’s possibly. Flat runners, different style bag door handle, and the one piece exhaust port instead of the swinging saloon...
