Unless, he's gotten rid of it lately, your boss has one that's in REALLY nice condition best I could tell. I tried to talk a blue streak to talk him out of it, but he wouldn't budge on it! LOL!

He also contacted me, i already have one, not a 1924 model but a 27 model. Sent for Electrolux South Africa. Original cord although not the original hose. Sweet little machines. Mine needs some cleaning and buffing, but for 91 years old i think its in good condition.

Does anyone know when during model V production Electrolux switched from the elephant to the serpents on the rear handle?

The serpent -- actually the Rod of Asclepius (see link), was used on the 1925 model. The elephant, which was a company icon, was on the earlier 1924 model. I have seen various old Electrolux items such as bookends, etc., with the elephant icon on them.

Mine still have the elephant
My Model V still has the elephant on the handle its a 1927 model.

Thank you for the info Charles. Perhaps only the American version had the serpents on the handle? Does anyone have such version so we can see pictures? Back in the 1980's an Electrolux dealer by my house had a model V in the window. It was the only one I can recall ever seeing in person, and stupid me being a kid at the time never asked if it was for sale. The answer would've probably been "no" anyway, but still.
