NOS Electrolux Model L or refurbished with more features?

This is a ........ continuing dilemma for me. I rebuilt the motors on both one G and one 1205. Both sound fine, but the G out-pulls the 1205 in the postcard test. Short of buying tools/gauges to test the two, it would be nice to know that the G just has a stronger suction. Both have new LUX...

    Born To Love Me...

First of all..... very cute pic of  Jamie (or very handsome if you insist). WD-40 is nothing but a water displacement formulation, hence the initials 'WD'.  Great for spraying wet distributor caps and the like. It's a very poor lubricant, because...it's not a lubricant at all and despite rumors...

    CRAIGSLIST allert!

<a name="start_18197.199760">In the time that vacuum would have been made-there were 32V DC appliances-My Moms Mother had a sewing machine that ran from 32V.And the summer cottage she used-and later I went there-it was wired for 32V.The place was on an island-in Lake Winnepesaukie,NH.When I...

    LOT. Vintage Vacuums

We're getting..... down to the wire here with Hope. I'm sure she's frantically busy....but not responding to emails. As mentioned in email, I would want the LUX canisters & related stuff.  If it's now come down to physical removal by the buyer, I can't do that of course.   Kevin

Electrolux Olympia free to good home

No hard..... feelings whatsoever. I was in the right place at the wrong time. It happens....I actually only have LUX up to the 1205. However, I bought a new Diamond Jubilee back in the 80's under duress from the then wife and mother-in-law.  It didn't last without problems...although when we...

    Electrolux 50th Jubilee 1205 Problem

Good call..... Jimmy. Noises like that are almost always bearing related, especially from sintered bearings.   Kevin

    NEW THREAD FROM HOPESTER

I think this..... was an arduous task for Hope, to say the least...trying to sell this stuff and keep up with all our email and offers. I think there's always room for a business of refurbished stuff-like old vacuums. But you have to have a clever gimmick...like pitting old vacs against new in...

I wonder what could be in the box???

Very, very..... cool Zach!! LOVE the color, but I'm partial that way.  Can you make a vid of using it & the attachments??   Kevin

    Must be my lucky day...

Well..... she created a very loyal customer and you got a LUX for free. I'd say it's a win/win for the both of you. You'll probably bring her biz too....small investment on her part. Congrats on the LUX!   Kevin

    Electrolux Model E fan/motor

Best solution..... of course would be NOS mounts. I'm not sure making a rigid joint with epoxy is the way to go. Maybe you could fab up your own mounts if you study how they are made...providing you can't find  the OE mounts after all this time. You should also examine the motor bearings...

Electrolux XXX that i baught off ebay

You can..... find some clear, shrink material to make your old hose like new. A member here mentioned using it. Not cheap, but there's no way the hose will leak over time or stretch out. Nice solution for a collection-ist.  For me since I'm using the vacs, I just buy a new LUX hose and call it...

    Elux decal question

Sorry..... didn't mean to discourage you! There are printers that will do this. For example, there is a gal printing out the logo and operating instruction sticker for old TroyBilts...for about $40.  Some will take the chance, other will not.....shop around. I also have old chainsaws...same...

    LOT. Vintage Vacuums

I see.... 1205's! Any LUX motors in boxes that you are aware of? If those 1205's haven't been underwater/trashed, I'd like them for parts....assuming they're all there. Literature looks nice, but I'm not into that yet.   Kevin

    Elux decal question

The.... problem is not the duplication itself,  but people in the biz reluctant to print copyrighted logos.   Kevin

    Electrolux Model G?

That's..... not a G and that's fraud. Whether the sellers knew that or not is irrelevant. Take your complaint to PayPal and tell them you did not receive what was described in the auction....you will get a full refund. Takes time, but you'll get it. They will want that you tried to negotiate a...

Electrolux Model L-Long lost part,Now found!

Nice video....... Hear hear! Alex you are very sweet, dedicated and a knowledgeable vacuum guy already. Love to see boys that much into this hobby. Back in the day it was more a closet issue than anything else. I knew a lot of boys who loved vacuums, but we never talked about it much and...
