1988 Electrolux Z2010 cylinder partial restoration & strip down

Already have! When I bought that D770 from Japan a few months ago it came with two white woven cloth hoses and a Ze3 with orange graphics, none of which were what D770s came with but are what would have been sold with a D720. But no worries, I have the correct gray hose and Ze3 for a D770...

Looking for motor for Panasonic MC-663 upright

That lip is so large I would be tempted to cut a couple of notches in it so you could get a better angle with a screwdriver on that overlapping edge. Without that lip it would be really easy to knock the outer fan cover off.

Any info about this "vintage" Eureka canister vacuum?

This uses Eureka Style B or Style S bags. Or, what I do is trim the mounting card of an Electrolux OX HEPA dust bag to fit. A hole punch makes this much easier to do. You punch two holes to fit the two tabs on the bag dock inside the vacuum. Then you fold the top of the mounting card back a...

1988 Electrolux Z2010 cylinder partial restoration & strip down

The machines those motors turn up in are exceptionally rare in North America. The Electrolux Group only sold a small number of D720s as the Viking V720, and a variable speed model I think was the D735 or D739, also with Viking branding. They didn't sell very many and parts are unobtainum. I...

    Cut-and-Paste Budget Bagless Vacuum Design

A half dozen on-line sellers like TopVacuumParts and EZVacuum sell genuine Kenmore parts. Kenmore has a presence on ebay under a name that escapes me now. A lot of parts for Titan canisters fit a whole bunch of different Kenmore models. The color of the plastic might be different but the...

    Smelly Vacuum Hose

If the hose has an switches, sliding speed controls and circuit boards in the handle I would remove the handle before dropping the hose into anything liquid.

I messaged them off their contact page but haven't heard anything. The owner or an employee might be waiting to find time to dig through some old motors to see what they have before replying. Have to be patient.

1988 Electrolux Z2010 cylinder partial restoration & strip down

It's just that there are reasonably priced drop in replacements for the original motor in 220-240 volt form which makes it such an easy fix. For those of us with 100-120 volt versions however there are no drop in replacements. If only !

    Smelly Vacuum Hose

For some of us the 1980s seem like yesterday O_O but a 40 year old vacuum qualifies as vintage.

Lucky you there are reproduction 240 volt motors available in the EU for very reasonable prices. Domel makes one but I think at least one other company does too.

Looking for motor for Panasonic MC-663 upright

Show me a clear image of the fan housing from the side so I can see how it fits into the motor base. Most of the time you either get a chisel or very thin flat blade screw driver in between the fan housing and base and patiently tap tap tap around that seam until you work the fan housing off...

Boy I have never had that kind of luck with any of my Panasonic uprights : / The Bank was a Tacony product if my last brain cell is not failing me so not surprised a part from another Tacony product, Carpet Pro, fits.

Ebay is your friend. Panasonic upright vacuum cords are almost always available. Ditto their attachments. Some Kenmore attachments are also the same as those used on Panasonic branded uprights so give that a browse too.

Looking for motor for Panasonic MC-663 upright

No. The rivets you see hold the metal field housing to the motor base. The fan housing is not riveted on. I have not had that particular motor apart but have had similar Panasonic vacuum motors from that era apart.

    Cut-and-Paste Budget Bagless Vacuum Design

Vac shops don't like Kenmores because they cannot sell the brand but they get them in to be repaired. Compound that with clueless customers who buy them on line and use the cheapest paper bag they can find on Amazon, never change filters and generally neglect and abuse them. So all the vac...

Looking for motor for Panasonic MC-663 upright

Are you sure those rivets are not just holding the motor base to the outer metal housing? The fan housing should be a press fit, not riveted.

    Smelly Vacuum Hose

No. I have one of those Kenmore Commanders btw but they had cloth hoses. This hose was the original almond colored vinyl hose that came with mid to late 1980s Kenmore Premiers, their first canister with a top mounted swivel hose. The first couple of years they had almond tan bodies with dark...

    Dyson Piston

The military is doing some way out things with AI by way of speeding up decision making and allowing one person to control swarms of unmanned systems that talk to each other and can think and coordinate with each other using an AI called Hivemind. If you think about it the Aegis system used by...

Yeah he does. He pulls out that particle meter and the way he uses it is complete bs. This is one of the things about his videos that grinds my gears. I still remember him taking a totally beat up Kenmore that had not been serviced, had old blown out filters and was missing the lid over the...
