The 950 watt motor is strong enough, the wheels are very handy, cord winder makes it easy to pack away, smaller body than the later models so more nimble, re-useable bag so no running costs and the colour isn't like dragging around a traffic cone. I am helping to clear out a 250 square meter (2700 square foot) shed that is full of dirt and leaves, the d338 is wonderful. I use it at school too.

Please post photos of the different versions of the D338. Is that the Lux Royal?

I am using the standard tan and brown one. I will get some photos of all the little features later/tommorow. My nana used it and loved it. A topic from another thread is that the d720 was sold in 1978-1980 in Europe but 1984-1986 in NZ. I cannot find the UK model list so I cannot go back right to the start, I will use the france purification website. Some examples,the z90 was 1967-1969 while the nz z89 was 1966-1968, next model- 1968-1972 NZ to 1969-1972, etc.

I look forward to seeing your photos, Elliot. Btw, which country sold the ZC90 from 1967 to 1969? The UK marketed it from 1965 to 1968 according to its model pamphlet, and Sweden introduced it in 1964. In case you have yet to see the Electrolux Ltd. (UK) pamphlets of its model descriptions from 1921 to 1979, check out Doug's reply #34 on the following thread:

Their service videos are the best. I don't speak French but for the most part there is no need to even turn the volume up. Just watching is enough. I have also bought parts from them and they are wonderful people to deal with. They don't ship overseas, only within the EU, but I use a shipping agent called Colis Expat. They have warehouses in France, Italy, Germany and the UK. You set up an account at Colis Expat and they have an address for you to use at each warehouse. You have your European merchant ship the goods to the Colis Expat address. When the package arrives Colis Expat notifies you by email and from there you arrange to have the package shipped to your home anywhere in the world. It's a great service.

I was watching a France Purification video on how totake my D775 apart and the French guy was talking incredibly fast in French, then, suddenly he puts a screwdriver behind the wheel and smack, the wheel flies across the room.

That made me wince too ! I have a long T20 Torx bit I sneak behind that wheel to get at the screw hiding behind it to open up my D795.

In Switzerland we had mostly the vacuum cleaners from Sweden. The Z90 was sold 1964-1969, and the D720 from 1979-1981

I was not seeing that coming. Though not too surprising as many machines have screws behind the wheels.
