How does a Kirby not draw in moisture when in shampoo mode?

Broomvac:   As far as I know, this was a one time deal where the user was in a bind and needed his bathtub pumped out.   I also would not recommend anyone try this with their Kirby.   ~Stan

Kirby Sentria 2 not outcleaning a rainbow e2 black

Maybe you didn't have the carpet height adjustment set properly on the Kirby.   I assume the belt, brushroll and fan are in good condition?   Does the Kirby perform close to or better than the Rainbow when a brand new bag is installed?

How does a Kirby not draw in moisture when in shampoo mode?

The Kirby shampoo brushroll is made of Hard Rubber and has sealed bearings so it is not affected by getting wet.   The fan chamber is completely sealed from the motor, so it is impossible for any liquid to get into the motor. If you search the archives on here, there is a story where someone...

    Well, scratch one Kirby...

Hi Edgar,   This is how you can get a great shine on all parts of your Legend II. I used this method on my Heritage Legend II seen in the photos below.   First, get a tube of Flitz polish from Amazon or Walmart. Flitz works better than Mother's and it also works on the plastic and rubber...

Adding Fragrance to a Bagged Upright Vacuum

Mark:   I find that Odors Away fragrance to be quit pleasant.   I find that I need to add a few drops to my Kirby's inner bag about  once a week to keep it fresh smelling. Odors Away also keeps your house smelling nice too.

Adding Fragrance to a Bagged Upright Vacuum

I second David's opinion... I have been using "Odors Away" for years now. This stiff works wonders.   Just put a few drops on your newly installed cloth HEPA bag and that wonderful fragrance fills the room as you vacuum.   ~Stan

    Well, scratch one Kirby...

Edgar: I hope this video will help you to tear down your Legend II and replace the switch if necessary.   Also, while you have it apart, you should replace the gray Lexan fan with a new white Amodel fan. The old Lexan fans are prone to crack and break apart causing damage to the fancase and...

Another Fan that wont give up the Ghost

FYI - Kirby didn't start using Amodel fans until the G5 came out.   Kirby G3 and G4 used the gray Lexan fans which tended to crack and break apart with age.   The link below will take you to an interesting article that describes how the Amodel fan came into being.  ...

    KIRBY ULTIMATE G7E

Dual speed switch... Les,   The Kirby Diamond edition had a green speed switch located on top of the motor housing. This switch enabled the user to select a low speed mode to prevent the Kirby from sucking up small throw rugs which could stop the brushroll from spinning.   The Diamond...

    KIRBY ULTIMATE G7E

Walter, Try to refrain from setting the Green Speed Switch on top of the motor housing to Low Speed which can cause the motor to overheat and burn out. This switch should always be set to High Speed.   The G7 Diamond was the only Kirby to have the 2 speed motor option. Kirby discontinued...

I’m very proud of my Heritage ✨✨✨😉

    Kirby Legend II nozzle Rattle

This also happened to me.   Try vacuuming with the headlight in the raised position. If the rattle stops, the the problem is with the headlight assembly.   To fix it just rotate the nozzle latch to the One O' Clock position and lower the headlight. This is what fixed my rattling problem...

Kirby Complete Model Change or Just Another Color Change?

As I was told by an old friend who worked for Kirby Corporate:   The current system will remain in place until Kirby can build a completely new system that can match or improve on the performance of the current Avalir system while remaining near the current price point. So far this has not...

    Kirby Belts

You can use the new knurled belts (has tread on the inside instead of smooth) on all Kirby's from 513 to present Avalir as long as you have a Ball Bearing bushroll installed. The new knurled belt will ruin the older sleeve bearing brushrolls.
