    Dyson engineering ineptitude and complacency

I have not been hands on with a new Dyson since 2014. They just don't interest me anymore. Machines from Sebo and Numatic seem better built in my view and more interesting. Such a shame the way Dyson has gone in recent years..

    Dyson engineering ineptitude and complacency

Fantastic design's fall from grace... I agree here. Dyson cleaners aren't as good as they used to be, and this a great shame in the vacuum cleaner world. The biggest problem I have with the newer Dyson cleaners is the build quality - They just don't make them like they used to. I remember...

    Numatic Henry HVR-200 from 1998!

Hello all, I'm back after quite a long break from both the forum and the vacuum collecting hobby (Doing 2 A-Levels really does take quite a lot of time). None the less, I am back, and with a familar cleaner too; A Numatic Henry HVR200 from 1998 which I got from the local carboot sale. Henry...

    Britain's best selling vacuum cleaner

Who would honestly buy a G-Tech air ram? It's capabilities are limited, no onboard tools, nothing to clean stairs with or even get the cobwebs off the curtain rail (a situation faced for many). The Air ram only really 'cleans' carpets (although it is really a glorified carpet sweeper, that is...

which is better dual cyclone or root cyclone

I find Dual Cyclone the better cyclonic system. The DC04 in particular separates about 80% of dust from the air flow, and compared to a DC07, it's much quieter as the Cyclone action doesn't 'scream' like on some DC07s.

    New Dyson DC40 Origin.

The newer Dyson's are not quality machines, I find them to be flimsy and overpriced for what they are. However, they perform a lot better than the Dyson machines previously. The last half decent design that came out of Malmesbury was probably the DC25. It's not a bad vacuum, but not as sturdy...

The latest edition to the Vacuum Fleet!

Hello people! Hope your all doing well. Todays latest machine to my 'fleet' is this Hoover Dustette, I believ the bag is of the Swedish green colour, though I am not sure. (I'm sure someone will correct me) I would take a pic of the serial plate, but it's all badly scratched up and only a...

    The Aunties 'Gift'

Hello Vacuumlanders! :) Hope you all had a great Christmas! I certainly did! :D This was the Aunties 'gift', well not really a gift because she didn't want it anymore, because it was replaced by a DC41 Animal So what is the 'gift' you may ask? Well, it's a DC25 Animal! :) A bit clapped out i...

    Heavily abused Dysons

No design or vacuum is 'Perfect.' Having a perfect piece of design is impossible, because we're human. In a piece of design, say an AEC Routemaster bus, the design wasn't perfect, it didn't have a low-floor and had an engine at the front with a long transmission to the back axle, making it...

    Heavily abused Dysons

This is why I wouldn't use a Dyson in a commercial environment, even an 04 Constantmax, i still wouldn't put it through a commercial environment because most (if not all these days) are designed for domestic use. Some of the best commercial machines are Numatics', I've said it before and I'll...
