    Kirby 509 and dirt meter

Early Dirt Meter I have one of the early dirt meters. They are extremely rare, not many collectors have one. I'm not sure if they were official dirt meters coming from Kirby or if some of the dealers created these on their own. The one I have doesn't fit all that easily on the Kirby but it was...

    Shocked!

Why did it go so high? The reason it sold for such a high amount is because it is extremely rare. It has the switch in the handle, like a Model R Kirby. There aren't many Scott & Fetzer machines around like that, so that is why it is worth so much. I'm surprised no else noticed that. Chad

    What is this thing

Ebay is a great choice.... I disagree, ebay is a good place to sell an Electrolux Olympia. Looking at completed sales I see ending prices ranging from 40.00 - 150.00. Shipping won't be that much, maybe 30 or 40 bucks, which you could put off on the buyer to pay. So if you sold this vacuum for...

Behold: The all-aluminum Kirby Hand Vac “Utility”

Kirby Utility I have one too in my collection. The thread I started when I got it: http://www.vacuumland.org/cgi-bin/TD/TD-VIEWTHREAD.cgi?7534. I have since found another one at a vac shop that the owner won't sell. He knows what it is and how rare it is. I have never seen a Utility with any...

Do Not Do Business With a007kirbyman!!

Delaneymeegan, actually Bill has 1162 feedback, and it's 100 percent. I see that Fred has a recent negative feedback from someone else that said the item wasn't packed very well either. Bill is not new by any means to Ebay. And that is strictly as a buyer.

VCCC Members - Information regarding the roster

Thanks Rick, you just proved what I have felt all along, members want a printed newsletter. Being president, I have been approached by many a member wishing for a printed newsletter to return. Maybe other clubs can get by with an electronic newsletter, I just think the VCCC isn't one of them...

    Found a Lewyt Electronic

I found a Lewyt Electronic at an estate sale yesterday. I hear these are pretty rare, dare I even say that? Sorry, some people get upset when you dare call something rare. I've never found one in my travels all these years so to me it is rare. Anyways, the estate sale people told me the vacuum...

Kirby Generation 3 outer bag removal

The G3 had a unique connector for the bag to the bag topper. You have to remove a couple of star washers that hold a metal bar to the topper. The bag has slits that slide over the bar. You may not be able to reuse the star washers so plan on buying new, but they shouldn't cost much. It really...

    Convention

This is a really rare Filter Queen that was made for Western Union. It came in a black box, I think it was somewhat of a commercial type model? I don't know a whole lot about it but I did see one Ebay recently. This one was at Ruth Hollander's vac shop. This was the first one I've ever seen in...

    Convention

Forgot To Mention The Real Number Is 12 Vacuums Not 13. Why they chose that number I do not know.

    Convention

The reason is a collector brought a bunch of vacuums that were junk and left them in the hotel back in 2006. The hotel charged the club a hefty disposal fee. This happened before I joined but that is the reason given. After every convention I see people leave behind vacuums and parts. If no one...

CWP Article about the VCCC Tour last summer

I just found out that there was an article about CWP in the VDTA magazine about the VCCC's visit to their factory last summer. I don't have a copy of the magazine but I found a link from CWP's website. I am so glad we had the opportunity to tour the factory and see how brushrolls are made. Check...
