I did use my windtunnel but it kicked the bucket. So I'm happy to see this thread for great ideas for a replacement

I use a Dyson DC14 Animal upstairs for the carpets, and my black 2008 Oreck for the hard floors. In the basement, I use my Hoover Anniversary Windtunnel Self Propelled for the carpeting and Kenmore Progressive canister for hard floors, carpets, and the stairs. All together, it is a great combination for my house!

Should also mention, I use my Constellation 86 for all my canister cleaning work inside. The hoover portapower is used for exterior, and heavier cleaning.

I also use the royal 501 hand vacuum for that kind of stuff. :)

This is how it goes with me: Whenever I fill the bag, I use another vacuum. I was using my G5 but Im now using my Tradition. And for dusting, I use my Hoover Portable. For stairs and furnitre, I use my Royal Prince Handvac.

Lately, it's been the Royal 801 that I haven't touched in years until I made the video for Youtube last week.... using it made me fall in love with it again. It's actually quite powerful and so light and agile and nimble and so quiet! It looks great too, so majestic.... I truly adore it. Just changed the bag today. It is so awesome.... it's fun to fall in love with a vacuum you've had for years all over again.... I'm so used to using plastivacs, this is a real treat to play with again. Using the Black and Decker Flex for cat hair on the furniture and all other above the floor needs... Dirt Devil cordless stick vac for around the litter box and in the bathroom... I did break out the Renniassance tonight because I dropped a box of light bulbs in the kitchen and wanted to get the fine glass particles after sweeping up the big stuff with the broom so I don't cut my bare feet.

I saw the 1934B in a vacuum shop last week when I was there getting a dusting brush for a friend and it was really cool.... I talked with the owner and his wife for about an hour (super nice guy) and he said he really likes the 1934 style machines and of course loves the Royals... he had some Sebo too, but not the new ones, the X4 and the white canister with the hose off to one side...

Diamond Jubilee

With a new replacement hose! As well as the gigantic stack of filter bags it came with (both of those boxes are open, but full)

I've also got a Hoover Tempo (that's been more or less set to being used as a backup - I don't have enough carpet around here to warrant an upright); and a Roomba Discovery that refuses to charge in its base and is more of a novelty than anything else. If it would actually charge, I'd schedule it to run and use it, but as it is it's mostly useless.

still playing the field........

I don't think I've ever had what you could call a "daily driver." As far a vacuums are concerned I am incapable of monagamy for even a day.
