You never know who you'll meet

I ended up stopping at an Estate Sale today that I was not planning on. It looked like a bust with odds and ends, but mostly junk. I only stopped because I saw irons and I thought maybe they would have something else. They turned out to be Hoover irons. New in Box Hoover Irons, nonetheless. I got talking to the guy and he told me the guy who passed away was a retired Hoover Regional Manager. Intrigued, I told him about my collection. He immediately told me he had a few Hoover type items. The first thing he pulled out from his trash area was a beautiful Hoover rug. He told me it was outside last night, and had gotten a little damp. Saying that, he offered me the rug for $1. SOLD! I've been after a Hoover rug for God knows how long, asking every local chain establishment that sells vacuums if they would be willing to sell one. Never willing to.

The other few things he pulls out were a sales reward copper mug. Which has the reward name with the Hoover logo embossed on it.
I also was looking on tables and found a Hoover embossed Stapler (really cool). They also handed me two resealable bottle tops.

The next thing they pulled out were two perfect looking Hanna Hoovers.

The man went inside, and pulled out something I have never seen before. I am curious what it is...I know "what" it is, however, I don't know if this is Hoover Company issued, or if he just made this.
It is a box with Hoover on both sides. Inside is a Grinder, Wheel for I assume polishing, and MANY parts and small odds and ends for Hoover Vacuums. Really, really cool. I have never seen anything like it.

I am posting pictures of a few things, and as I take more I will upload.

The Mug

I assume this was an award. Very heavy with a clear glass bottom, oddly enough.
and also the Hoover Stapler, which is just awesome.

Finally...

I have no idea what these Washing Machine tin prints are. They weren't sure what they were either.

Cool! Hope you'll be able to get those stickers off the soleplates of the irons. Wonder why they put them there....not the best place methinks.

The feild service case--I see a sewing machine case converted to hold a grinder-wire wheel buffer and parts such as brushes and brush seating stones.I have a Necco sewing machine in an almost indentical case.The tin prints are for the Hoover twin tub washer.One tub had the impellor agitator for washing-the other tub has a spinner for rinsing and spin damp drying the clothes.These machines were common in apartments and college students.On the irons the shoe labels may be more stuck as the adhesive on them aged.You may have to try alcohol,citrus-solve to get them off.If you are going to use the irons for display-leave the labels on for the collector appeal.
