I hear you. I'm not an upright fan, but I do have 2 Aerus/Electrolux examples and I even use one of them regularly.

Gr8DaneDad , thanks for telling me that its from 87 i was wondering about that .
I cant belive she got rid of it and all it needed was a new bag and filters .

Some people are completely clueless with what they have & that's where we all come in & swoop at the chance to get it before they get smart or someone tells them what they have.

thanks

I. Have the number for my electrolux dealer I will call them
a nd order some parts for it thanks for the info Rob.
And some people dont know what they have until its to
late im glad I could find this one thats for sure

There are many accessory kits for sale on eBay for this, and all Lux uprights except the 4000 and 6000. Many are BIN for ~$50. Buying from Aerus will cost a great deal more, but they will be new.

2 the motor sounds fine but could have more suction
I kust want to go over the machine clean it ect

"take apart a Discovery?"

The branches were furnished an extra long screwdriver that would go from the 4 screws under the bag with the handle above the bag chamber.Similar can be found at Snap-On or better tool stores. As with many jobs the right tool is a must.On the base you remove the 4 (or later 5) screws and then insert a flat screwdriver in rectangular holes at rear edges to 'unlock'tabs holding rear of cover.
