I bought my daughter a new Hoover WT 3 rewind for Christmas. I took it over after the holidays and tried it out in her apt. She has a 2 bdrm/2bath, not that big of a place.. 1 baby, no pets, and no longer a husband.

I picked up 4 bins of dirt! One time is got too full and went way past the empty line and I had to take a butcher knife and reach up in there and get it all out. I am not a fan of bagless vacs for this reason.

She had been using an old Hoover Decade 80 that was in great shape. I was surprised to say the least. I thought that old Decade would have kept the carpet , which I might add is low pile plush, a bit cleaner.

The WT has wicked suction through the hose, and 3 tunnels in the head.

Do you think maybe we found a winner here?

They seem to agitate and suck pretty good, but this time of year maybe she was too busy to run the vacuum often?

i was wondering about WT 3's myself. I just bought an old (1999) bagged WT at a thrift store on a lark and after a while i was hooked. Man what a work horse vac! Big, heavy, clumsy, check check check. But the garage got spiffed up nice, the entry rug with 40 years of beach sand is much lighter, and it grooms the carpet better than any other vac i run, unless it's another Hoover.

I've seen them around too and while i believe it's performance will be superior to other bagless windtunnels due to the shorter air path i don't think it would be quite as powerful as one of the bagged ones due to the cyclonic separation which seems to create a lot of resistance reducing airflow in the system. When i had a T series it only read in at about a 3 on the baird meter while the bagged windtunnel supreme, and windtunnel lite read in at an 8.

After reading all the reviews of this machine I am a bit worried. I bought it where I work,and there is no problem with returns. Thought I had picked a winner.............

see link. A Hoover rep even responds to one of the bad reviews. With electronics these days a certain percentage are duds. Return for another, if that's a dud too move on. Always buy with a credit card and you will get your money back if you play it right.
I only buy used stuff, usually so cheap it's not an issue. Just got a lightly used bagged WT 2 at auction for $4. It doesn't stand upright properly by itself, a common issue, but other than that it's a nice vac.
People are "renting" products like vacuums by buying it and returning it to the big box stores with their no hassle return policies. The manufacturers cover the cost of these returns i believe and the units are then dumped at auction...by the thousands it seems.
the last auction i went to had 27 Electrolux Precision vacs, released last year, that went for about $15 each, list price is $300 i think on those. Tons of shampooers as well. No quality vacs at this particular auction place except the rare Miele which goes for top $. I love the new Electrolux Nimble i got for $10! The Percisions' felt far less solid to me than my Nimble, so i think i will pass on those. I also picked up 2 Electrolux Versatilities & a Shark vac for $6 each...neither of which i have used yet. Sometimes these vacs are complete, working, and in the orig. box. More often they are without box or manual and missing attachments and/or are broken in some way. You have to be careful and keep a cool head. The Craigslist market is so saturated with thaese vacs the prices at auction dropped noticeably from last year when i first went.

INTERESTING VIDEO (whoops, sorry for capital letters there).

The female tester says this vacuum is excellent at "fine particulate."

Well not by the dust on top of the hood, if it is anything to go by!
