Its hard to believe that my mother got this Vacuum 49 years ago for Christmas!

I found this hose on ebay, it went to an upright but I adapted it to replace what I had

on it , now it looks more like it did when it was new!

Awesome Ben!

The Roto matic Eureka was your mothers? Wow ! My sister had the Sister that was badged for Singer. Always liked the Blue and/or Green Eureka model better because they had the handle at the Hose connection to the machine. Plus the attachment clips on the sides of the machine. Did the attachments actually stay on the machine when it was being used ? Always assumed they would be knocked off when the hose would bump them.

Tools don't ever come off unless I take them off. I remember always cleaning this vacuum up, I would wax it so it wouldn't rust and would be shiny!

Great look, Ben

Looks fabulous ben!
I put a replacement hose on the Gold Crown you sold me. While it does not look original like yours, it works great. Use it as a daily driver.
Had the bearings replaced and it runs like brand new. The repair guy wanted me to junk the machine and buy a "better" new machine! Like that's going to happen!
Will have to take some pictures of the little beauty and send them to you.
Thanks again.
Greg

Sounds like you got her back on her feet! Good to hear! I'm really happy that I found that hose! Its back to original!

Send some pictures when you can! Would love to see her!

WOW! She looks fantastic! The only thing I need to do to mine is replace the cord strap. It finally broke in half. I kept the snaps but not sure where to get the plastic at.

Stability question:

I have read here at Vacuumland that the General Electric Swivel Top tank canisters were not that stable and easily fell over. Did the Eureka Roto-Matics have the same problem?

What about other tank vacs that had the hose port on top? I imagine those whose port was lower down on the side (Lewyt, Filter Queen, etc.) were more stable as you dragged them around....just curious. :-)

My mothers Signature Rotomatic never fell, tipped over at anytime. Like Greg said, they are very stable, very quiet! But so is the General Electric Swivel Top that I have, Its stable and quiet also!
