Windsor BrushRoll

Does anyone have a Windsor Versamatic 18" BrushRoll i can Purchase Off of you. Or do you know whaere i can get one CHEAP! cause there $95 and mine on my Windsor/SSS is Warped and its Vibrating the Power Nozzle Very Bad and making a Racket.

How bad is it warped? What is it made of?

I might have an idea, depending on the answers to the above questions.

I guess its made out of hardened dense plastic i guess or wood covered with plastic...idk.probably plastic. and its warped so badly the pwer nozzle sounds like a Jackhammer

Since it is warped, means it is out of balance, and therefore vibrates a lot. If you can identify the heavy side, you can remove material from that side to re-balance the brush roll. You can look at my ultra simple diagram to see what I'm talking about.

how to you remove the material....Peel it off

The method I'd choose, is to find the side that is heavier, and then drill small holes in that side. This will compensate for the warping and lack of balance.

The hardest part is finding where the warp is. It is probably not even close to obvious, and this makes things difficult.

The image below shows an exagerated comparison of a warped brushroll and a correct brushroll as viewed from one end. The line divides the heavy half from the lighter half.

well the warp is right on the edge of one end....not the end the belt goes on,but the other....i swear the power nozzle revs up and down like a dirt bike it virates the quits then vibrates then quits...and it ant the motor..motor runs fine..tis the brush..i just think it be easier to buy a new one...i ant never drilled holes in brush roll

It would be easier to buy a new one but the cost is quite steep. I hope someone out there has one your could buy for cheeper, but this cleaner is not exactly common.

I guess if you do the math, and figure that even after you buy a new brushroll at full price, you would still have your cleaner up and running for less that the cost of a new one. I guess thats a good thing.

From you latest description of your problem, I think my plan would be less than practical. It sounds like the damage is too extreme. A new one is probably required.

well a guy emailed me and told me to remove the brush strips,but sadly it didn't work.....it needs a new brush roll badly...im afraid this vibration might eventually cause damage to the motor

Don't know anything about that vacuum, but I just wanted to say I'm sorry you're having such trouble with it. I know you were looking forward to it... and I know what it's like to be excited about a vacuum and then be upset about its condition. Glad you got the power nozzle working though.
