WILL A KIRBY "F" Hepa BAG FIT A HOOVER TYPE A FILL TUBE?

But I would definitely try it. I have seen someone convert a top-fill Convertible to a Kirby fill tube setup. He attached a section of 2 inch diameter shop vacuum tube to the bellows in the Hoover, and then attached a Kirby Heritage II fill tube to the modified bellows. I think he uses the Kirby Allergen bags that have the old style fitting, not the F style.

The answer is NO. The diameter of the Kirby bag collar is larger than the Hoover bag adapter. The bag will probably blow right off.

Eurekastar is right, a Kirby HEPA bag would not fit, as the hole is slightly larger than the one on the Hoover A bag. If you wanted to use a Hoover A HEPA bag but concerned about the cost per bag or the hassle of special ordering the bags thru your local shop, there is an alternative....just use a generic Hoover Y HEPA bag. Most vac shops should carry them & they are easily found on Amazon.com for dirt cheap when bought in bulk. Also, it says in your profile your Hoover is a Hoover Tempo, right? The Type A HEPA bag, as well as the Kirby bag would be too big & not inflate properly, & the Tempo does use the Y bag anyways.
If you had another Hoover, though, & for some reason you still want to use the Kirby HEPA bags, there is a way to do it. With my Royal uprights that use the Royal Type B bag, I wrapped duct tape around the filltube to increase it's diameter, so that a Kirby bag fits snugly without coming off. You could do the same with your Hoover if you wanted to use a Kirby bag.

I would try it. There is no doubt the Kirby bags would filter better.

I Always do it, especially with the bottom-fill Hoovers: I take a Kirby bag, glue seal a piece of cardboard on the Kirby carboard plate to make sure the opening won't leak, then I cut the top of the bag, I put it around the Hoover round conic fill tube and secure it with the round rubber ring or (even better) with a round, tight spring. This operation is simple and easy and the convertibles clean very well with improved filtration and airflow. those bags work beautivully also with Hoover

sorry, I was at work and couldn't complete the sentence! I was writing that those kirby bags (even the older-cheaper Micron Magic bags worked very well for me also with Hoover Conquests: in this case I usually put some tape all around the end of the bag adapter to in crease a little bit its diameter, then I secure the top of the kirby bag into the metal clamp that holds the bag with a sprinf to the handle so it stays in place. As that outer bag is very large, it allows the kirby bag inside to inflate properly, increasing the already tremendous airflow of the Hoover Conquest. Just try it , then let me know1
