Eureka Ultra
Yes, Swingette, I think you're right. I can remember the Eureka Ultra as early as 1987. One of the things I liked better about the Ultra over the Elite was the perforated vinyl outer bag. I would love to find an Ultra, seems nowadays they're long gone. My first thought when I saw the Elite and the Ultra was OMG, they copied the Oreck! I guess Mr. Oreck's patent ran out by that point. And yes, even at that time, the Hoover's amperage was double that of the Oreck. Oreck's motor was 2.8 amps, Hoover's 5 amps and later more.
