Why are Dysons so horrible?

Hey Chris....

I'm no "fan" of bagless machines, no matter what brand, but I think the Iona-Fantom company actually bought the rights to the cyclonic design from the Dyson company. Dyson did not rip off the concept from Fantom. Just to be fair to them.

I am actually more concerned about the fact that all the Dysons are made in Malaysia now - a country that is not very progressive when it comes to certain minorities.

Fantom licensed the cyclonic patents from Dyson

that is true

i have a thunder and fury and find the build quality MUCH better than the dyson. i really like the look of the fury, very futuristic, much so than the dyson

the dyson looks like the inside of a vac, meaning the cover removed to show the workings

I agree with you, Joe. Fantom WAS a much better build quality than Dyson, as is the Amway Cleartrak. Of the Fantoms, I think I like the Thunder the best. It's amazing for a machine that's purportedly so "high tech" Mr. Dyson has yet to incorporate a headlight on any of his machines.

I stand corrected!!

Thanks for the info, I've always thought it was the other way around- either way the Dyson is still a piece of junk.

I am thankful to James Dyson because every Dyson that comes in the store is slapped with a nice $70 fee for service. Maybe it has just been one of those months where everyone's Dyson is broken, but I feel this is only the beginning of the repair trend. Dyson is heavily saturated now because of Wal-Mart (in SC Wal Marks). As long as people keep buying and repairing them, I'll just vent to you guys!
