From the look on his face, the one in the santa suit is plotting your death. If you go quiet for awhile we will search for you under a pile in the cellar.

Up until my current cat, who is a commoner, I have always had royalty, spelled Siamese. Melvin is just a big orange Tom cat (neutered, of course). He actually had some getting used to,as he is so quiet. If anyone that has ever been around Siamese knows, they are very vocal cats, so when you have one that only talks to you when he's hungry and when you step on him; you wonder what's wrong with him.

I got Melvin kind of by chance, his mama was a local stray, she had him in my basement window then never came back. So my big orange baby was a bottle baby. I will post his picture soon.

"Silly Lily"

This is my cat Lily. She's a great companion except if you try to scratch her tummy. I think she's ticklish but doesn't know how to laugh. She's fascinated by modern conveniences and recently taught herself how to turn on the water in the kitchen sink for a drink.

Yep, they certainly are great companions and a big part of any family.

Buttons turned 11 years old only a few days ago but is still in perfect health (touch wood) and enjoys the relaxed lifestyle she has all her life.

She has never really been a cat that liked playing with toys. As soon as she was an adult cat she would just look at them with an expression asking "what do you want me to do with THAT?".

A friend of mine has always had cats. I have known him since I was 16. Anyway, I never was a cat person until a little stray came to his house. He named him Ittybit, due to him being so small when he showed up at the backdoor. I talked my friend into letting Ittybit in and he was skittish of me for a few weeks. Then one day I was sitting on the couch and he hopped up and turned on his back in the crook of my arm and took a nap. He stole my heart that day. That was 8 years ago. Unfortunately we lost him to cancer in February of this year. I would not give up those 8 years for anything, but I thought we would have him at least 16 years or more. Anyway here is Ittybit's picture, he was looking at me when I took this picture.

It's sad losing one...

PR-21: Sorry to year about the loss of Littlebit. It's always hard losing one. I'm still missing Havoc, the cat I had for almost 15 years and lost in 2011. I made it all of three weeks before I got Lily and you seem to have also learned the same important truth that I did: The best cure for losing a feline friend is to find another one.

My family hats cats, but I love them(and men...lol)! Here is my Sox. She is the most spoiled cat ever. She's so fat! I had a second cat a few years ago, (Tiger) but he got cancer. I got Sox and Tiger at the same time, and Sox only loves me, my cousin, and grandparents! I love that cat! She hates belly rubs. She scratches when you rub her there, yet always tries to get everybody to rub that belly!

My wife and I shared our house with this little darling

Her name was Tastrophe ("Taz" for short), and we adopted her from our local SPCA when she was 4 years old. She brought so much joy into our home and, when we moved to my Mom and Dad's house, to their home too for just about 8 years. Sadly, she passed away 10 months before my Dad did, in February 2011.

I LOVE cats, don't have one yet but hope to get one soon. Was thinking of a norwegian cat as those are fluffy, or maybe even a Bengal one. Tubbie's are lovely. I like cats with white socks and they are SO CUTE :D I prefer them to dogs as I find them more fun to play with, a good companion

I...

Love cats and dogs! I have three cats, which are all Domestic Shorthairs, a pretty generic breed of cat. Thought I do prefer dogs, we have a German Shepherd who is 115 pounds and from Czechoslovakia (also where my ancestors are from). Dogs make great companions and are wonderful pets, also very loyal. :)

Though I have dogs and cats

The most loyal friend and best watch dog I ever had was a Lynx Point Siamese. She lived to be 18 years old.
