I normally am a touch lighter in the warm climates, of course with a gas stove, it's not so much fun baking in the summer either!Winter? Free heat! House smells so good too.

I'd not

prefer a gas oven ever again. They heat up any kitchen in winter or summer too much. The vent is at the top, and the burner's high btu's really pump out the heat.
My electric ovens main element is concealed under the bottom, so it heats the oven floor first. Only if I use convection does it throw heat out the front, and then not even that much.

I prefer a Dual-Fuel stove myself

Specifically, a gas cook top with an electric oven. One reason being, it is easier to regulate the temperature in an electric oven compared to a gas oven, which is EXTREMELY important if you like to bake, which I do from time to time. I've heard that from several people actually. Two of the head chefs in the hotel where work are actually very adamant about that, another woman who said the same thing owned and helped operate a bakery that had been in her family for decades. There's probably some truth to it but the newer gas ovens are probably at least somewhat better than older ones. Either way though, I love my Electrolux Wave-Touch dual fuel stove. It's been a good one other than the fact that one of the gas burners died and had to be replaced and it was just a year and a half old at the time.

I, too, have heard that dual fuel IS best.w

However, we always had gas. I recently got a new gas stove.  It works SO well.  THat previous one, (rather cheap model) had a 'mystery temperature) ranging anywhere from 'heat' to 'cremate a body'. I've had to get used to this 'accurate temperature;. Plus, I have a marvelous Kitchenaid counter oven... electric.

I have a dual

fuel range. Yes, I like it. I looked at the Electrolux range Austin posted pic's of. It has plastic knobs, and while the blue oven interior looks nice, and it has luxury glide racks, I opted for the GE Profile because it seems sturdier. The knobs are stainless steel. I paid a bit more as well. I don't have 5 burners, but I rarely use all four at once. My right front is a dual stacked 18,000 btu power burner. It can go down to a very low simmer. The right rear is a small precise simmer burner for delicate sauces. You can set paper over it on low and it doesn't catch fire for a minute.
I only have one complaint. You must pre heat the smaller burners to use them if the oven is on, or they go out. There is a squirrel cage fan at the back that blows air out the front to cool the electronics.
The newer models have the vent at the top, so this may have been alleviated.

I agree about the plastic knobs!

Those aren't my favourite either. I love the blue interior though, it's a pretty good stove and except for the one burner being replaced there haven't been any problems. I've been thinking of of upgrading it though. I've always been a fan of Thermador appliances so I've been eyeing this one;)

Yes Austin,

Thermador is "spitzenklasse", unless you want Dacor, or Gaggenau. DCS and Five Star also make nice ranges.
Dacor has that infrared broiler.

A OLD gas oven

With the modulating control bakes much better to me, I am just the opposite of most people,, I like electric surface units and a gas oven, but, living in the HOT South, I use electric.

Oh Austin,

Wolf of course! How can I have forgotten? I like how their big red oven knobs have an led digital display, and the glass display flips and over and hides when you are not using it.
Ken, gas is more moist heat. Certain baked goods come out better, but steam can do the same in an electric oven. A French bread is often baked in a benne' marie bath. A shallow pan of water to set the bread pan in makes steam.

Pioneer woman

Probably spent all her money on the Wolf!!! Lmao. I try to steer clear of brands sold at *cough* Wal-Mart haha. I'd love to boycott that store lol😂

Correction!
The Pioneer Woman and her family do not live in Montana. They live outside Pawhuska, Oklahoma where her husband Ladd's family having been cattle ranching for over 100 years. The Drummond Ranch is one of the largest cattle ranches in the country.

Yes they are David

I have yet to see her reduce a tallow gastrique' to a mellow sauce for a brisket or London broil.
I don't catch the food network too much lately. We're trying to slim down before the holidays.
I did see David Burtka's first episode. He had a birthday party for his Italian friend who is he and Neil's kids Godfather.
David grew up in Canton Mi.
