Which Hoover would you have picked?

The red for me. I'm not a collector of uprights, and the combination of low miles, higher amp motor and clean bag chamber sounds good.... and I don't currently own any red vacuums.... completely arbitrary choice as I know nothing about any of them....

On the cyclinder I would take the red one if I could only have one of the two but for that cheap price I would have bought both,

The upright is the one I really like. I have one but its not in good looking order so I would love one for parts

I got the...

Green Spirit canister. It was the matching unit for the Quadraflex
and I'm not sure the red one had an electric hose outlet.
I liked the upright in black but it wasn't complete, had a broken cord clip,
and I see them a lot.

More Decade work

Finally getting the Decade fully cleaned up. I am only out here in California part time so it's been a few months since i started cleaning the Decade up. Got the hood off and the dirt cup assembly removed.
I'm not going to get into the motor as it's running fine and looks to be in good shape. The light bulbs are shot and will be replaced, but other than that, and maybe a belt, this only one needed a lot of cleaning to pass muster. The hood was majorly scuffed but Magic Earser took care of that. Underneath i used copious amounts of compressed air and cotton swabs to make things right. But the lions share if work lay elsewhere..

The bag was, not surprisingly, especially atrocious. I vaced all that crap out you see in the previous post, hosed out the bag, reversed the bag, hosed some more, then i hand washed it in a bucket with soap changing the water three times!
One of the pics shows a handful of mud i grabbed when i first hosed the bag. The 'Hoover' decal is sadly gone but it was a pretty compromised to begin with. I would prefer it be there but actually i was not a fan of the look of it. And the filth! I don't think i could have a shakeout/dirt cup vac in the house that i bought used which i didn't wash the bag with soap and water.
The bottom of the bucket shot was after the final wash! The water in the first bucket looked like used motor oil. There is also a pic which shows some of the crud in the crevice where the cup meets the bag. Not a lot of sealing happening there!
More pics to follow when she's all done.[this post was last edited: 12/23/2014-01:11]

Looking like it should..

it came together well I think. The brush roll and handle are in excellent shape causing me to think this
Vac saw limited use but was shoved under furniture regularly. The top of hood was
A different vacuum than the rest. It was so scuffed up. But the lens, bumper, and everything
else (besides the crazy filthy dirt cup assembly) was fine. The assembly is not that difficult to remove but few consumers would choose to do so as this vacuum seems to attest. Now the cup/bag is fresh as a daisy so it's ready to roll.

Green hoover upright

I am leaning toward the green Convertible, not only it is in great shape, it would be decent enough to sell for about $150. I am not saying that you have to sell it. But it would be good enough.
