Wheels for the Hoover 150

Hi Fellow members,

I am in the process of restoring my Hoover 150. Need one new front wheel which will take time to find. Doe's any body know of a person that could make new wheels (on a lathe I think) until I locate a original replacement?

Also looking for a bag strap.

I have been documenting the restoration with photos. Will be posting in a few weeks.

I have replaced those bag straps before...

Once you see how it is put together, its not terribly hard to accomplish. For the strap its self, what was originally used is called cotton twill tape. Made from 100% cotton fibers (that's probably partly why the broke...), go to your local fabric store, take a small sample of the original with you to gage width, and find what ever is closest out of the tape and twill, and trim section. What you will endup buying will most likely be by the yard, so I would but enough for the project, then have some on hand for the next.

of you do not know how to dismantle the system, I suggest you buy the Hoover Service manual from the Automatic Ephemera. It is simply a invaluable tool!
