I know the sebo felix looks nice, the hoover platinum looks really classy too. What is your favourite upright vacuum in terms of looks?

I'm not as big on looks but more so performance. But as far as new uprights, my mom got a Hoover Windtunnel Whole House Rewind and it looks nice as far as the shape and colors. I also like the look of the Kenmore Elite Crossover Ultra in purple, I liked the Kenmore Intuition in Bahama Blue best but they don't make it anymore. I also like the blue of the Hoover Windtunnel Self Propelled.

In terms of looks, for me it’s definitely the Miele Cat & Dog U1 Dynamic upright. Sleek lines and curves are the reason, and I like it in bright white. Unfortunately, these are no longer available in Canada. The simple sleek look of the Hoover Platinum lightweight upright would be second on my list.

I really don’t like the look of any of those bulky, cumbersome, overly complicated bagless uprights with all their on-board tools hanging on for dear life.

The Riccar / Simplicity Supralight / ??? twins look pretty good. I like their simplicity and lack of onboard tools. For an upright with tools, the Sebo X and G vacs look nice. They look slim enough to fit under furniture when folded flat. And for the ugliest, I'd pick most of the 'plasticy' looking baggless uprights with all the tacked on tools.

Best looking upright.....

In my opinion, is the Kirby Avalir (well, really any of the G series). Perhaps I'm old school and like a heavy-duty well built vacuum that can pull itself along. To me, the Kirby is a perfect blend of function and fashion. It's a beautiful machine (especially all polished up), and can just about pull the carpet off your floor. That combined with the tools that are available with the vacuum and you've got a perfect winning combination cleaning ensemble!

Bagged: I would say the Sebo Felix, Riccar Radiance, Miele S7, and maybe the metal Royals.

Bagless: Dyson leads by a mile in terms of appearance. Their newer products are Apple-esque in their modern beauty, and their aesthetic remains what other manufacturers vie to achieve. Whether or not the products have shortcomings, the lure of the design drives the industry, and ample sales!

Purple Rain--that is one FUNKY vacuum-A friend of my mothers would love that----Mrs Basham LOVED things that were pink or purple! That vacuum would camouflage itself in her house!Remember her when I was a little child. She was very nice!

Another example

Dyson cordless vacs have been around for years, but none of the competitor's scrambling-to-catch-up offerings look as slick (or are as good). Makes a great conversation piece.

The design of Dyson cleaners isn't overly-noisy, or busy. It's simple, but immediately stands out, and plays up the features that sets it apart from competitors. It's incredibly smart aesthetic design, constantly copied, but never equaled.

The Riccar Radiance in white pearl definitely one of my favorites. Too bad they no longer make it in that color.
@ultralux88 The whole Miele lineup is definitely beautiful though.

The new areas Electrolux canister takes my pic.

Sanitaire which is Eureka's commercial brand that makes the old school Eureka uprights I think is one of the most prettiest vacuums ever. And I would say the Panasonic uprights is also I think one of the most prettiest vacuums ever (I forgot to mention that on another thread similar to this).
