I know exactly what I would have purchased
Good Morning to Everyone in Vacuumland,

As I was born in 1954 (OK, I admit it, I am OLD), I would have purchased a fully optioned Electrolux LX or LXI. In my opinion, those machines were the most beautiful vacuum cleaners ever produced.
Aside from their incredible appearance, they were powerful and built to last. They were heavy, but what terrific vacuums.
I have two LX vacuums (with the yellow and red logo) and two LXI vacuums. One of my LXI's has wheels and follows me very easily. I keep one of them in my laundry room to suck the lint out of my dryer. They are both in excellent condition and still have very powerful suction after all these years. I still get a kick out of the way the bag flies out of the back when it reaches capacity. The Rube Goldberg system is very entertaining.
In my family, we only had Electrolux vacuums. No Hoovers here! Sorry John Long.
