What to do when you move

So my girlfriend and I will be buying our first house and I'm wondering what others have done about moving your collection. I'm trying to decide if I box up the machines I have the original boxes for or just move them as is. It's only 15 minutes from where we currently live so I won't be hiring a moving company, not that it matters that much just thought I'd throw that out there because I don't have to worry about someone else damaging them since it's just me handling them. Any tips or advice, etc... would be greatly appreciated.

I went through moving my entire collection in Dec 2015,
It would suggest if you move them as it, do it carefully and in small quantity's at a time, I put the uprights standing right up in the back of my truck , If you lie them down their is always a chance they will bump into each other and some damage can be done.

The last time I moved, I didn't have as extensive collection as I have now. I moved my vacuums last, other than one canister and one upright. When I had my furniture moved and in place, I went back and brought about 3 at a time, one in my front passenger seat with it reclined back and two in the rear seat. It took a while, but I only moved about 15 minutes away from my old place. No damage done to any of them.

I went through it a couple years ago, but I had to move everything to storage until the new house was done. I ended up boxing all of the attachments, hoses and power nozzles, and then I just rented a small Uhaul van to move uprights and canister bodies. The few "mint" machines I wrapped in old sheets and towels, but everything made it fine. Don't know that I would ever do it again though. Made me really think about all the machines I have and if I really need all of them.

Yea, I only had a few machines when we first moved in hence why I'm asking haha. I'm seriously considering how many I really need, the problem is that so many of my machines are NOS so it becomes a matter of will I regret it or let someone who would appreciate it more have them.

As of now

I have near 700 or more vacuums and 400 mixers!!LOL Not counting tons of other stuff, Pressure cookers, waffle irons cookware, griddles electric frypans and deep fryers, toasters irons and on and on!

That's a more than just would ever know what to do with, I'm sure with that many you must have a perfect storage setup for everything.

The basement is wall to wall mixers,my garage is wall to wall vacuums with the upstairs full of all kinds of cooking stuff!

My parents just bought a new house, and now I have to move my 14 vacs to the new place.

It's been tough just moving my things from room to room

during my home restorations.
I shudder to think of the arduous task of packing, loading, labeling, moving, etc over 450 Hoover items.
Soon, I'll be working on the 'gallery', A.K.A. the 'cats' apartment', where there will be a beautiful setup. I keep finding things I'd long forgotten about.

Hi All!! My Mom and I were recently forced to move, so all the vacs went into storage. Fortunatly, no damage, but moving 150 or so vacs is NO easy task! Bless their hearts, I don't know what I'd have done without Hans and his partner Donald. They made several trips from North Carolina to help me get everything moved in the time we had. I'm thrilled cause I think Hans has one of his Holy Grail machines on the way, but he can tell you more when he's ready. Toby G.
