I have never seen a Filter Queen with a selection dial and what appears to be no power switch. Anyone have any info on this?

It’s on EBay with little info. I couldn’t get the link to work.

I couldn't find this one on eBay. The red is where power switch would be. Yellow is the power nozzle port.
I'm guessing they put a stove knob on the high low switch. That's where it's usually located.

Years ago I had a queen which looked just like that, I may be wrong but I thought the Hi-Lo was a rocker switch on the side where the exhaust and batting is again years ago probably wrong I don't remember the on-off switch I wanted to say it was a push down paddle on top somewhere

I believe this is a Canadian model. In 2014 when we were in Cleveland at the Kirby Convention we took a drive to the Filter Queen factory and they had a museum upstairs with all the models on display and I seem to remember seeing this one with the variable speed motor.

The

Pic 1 the bottom right below the handle is what the power switch looks like.
Pic 2 is the hi low switch and power nozzle electrical port.

It is absolutely a Canadian model. The old VCCC went to Health-Mor about 2003 or so. Jimmy Martin won a Defender from them in a raffle. This model was in their display set-up outside the conference room we were all in. They ALSO had the Filter Queen with a dual cyclone, designed for them by James Dyson in the mid 1980's. We had so much fun then. I remember one of our members, Dan Marino, had a Corvette Convertible. I'd never ridden in one before. I rode with him from the hotel to Filter Queen and back. What a fun time.

Lol

I think the poster implied it was produced that wAy.
It does look like a mcgiver for sure.
I would've use an old stereo knob secured with duck tape.
