What Hoover vacuums are rare?

In addition to that light blue Convertible…

…some other rare US Convertibles include the 714 (1967 or '68), promo 706 ('69-'71), and 1032 (early 70s, not sure of exact year). I also believe that there were some gold U4001s with a groovy bag pattern, and, since I own one like this myself, some U4089s apparently had the same groovy bag. Might anyone know how rare these actually are? I did see a photo of one some time ago on VL. Probably an old thread.

Question for John;

Why do some Hoover constellation's have the hose connection on the very top center, and some down lower, on an angle? Is it a difference in model years, or American vs. British makes?

The early Connies had that hose connector

on the top.  It was referred to as the "snorkle", as, that is what it resembled.  Later, that big 'neck' was frefined to the one we all knew.  A few yrs ago, when Constellation" returned briefly,  it still connects  the same way, but, the coupling is simpler.

Glad to be of help.

John
