What does your Vacuum Store look like?

St. Louis vacuuum store

Mike, there's a vacuum store out north on Lindbergh at New Halls Ferry, Cross Keys Vacuum and Janitorial Supplies. They are dealers for Riccar, Dyson, Hoover, Sanitaire, as well as a warranty repair center for all of the above and more. There's always a sizeable selection of reconditioned models on the floor, as well as a plethera of cleaning tools/supplies for residential/commercial customers. I've known them about 25 years, a family run business. They offer exremely good customer service and repairs. If you're out that way, stop in and check it out, ask for Heather, she's the bomb! They have serviced numerous machines for me over the years, and while not fond of doing it, they buff Kirbys!

Mike:
There are three Triple A vacuum shops in St. Louis (South County, North Lindberg, O'Fallon) that I know of.

Also, on-line shopping might be easy and convenient, but how do you get the vacuum back into the computer when it needs to be fixed?

When I had my vacuum sales/repair store - I used to get VERY angry at people who bought their vacuum on-line, but expected ME to fix it. No effing way! Get your damn computer to fix it.

Tom,

and I don't blame you one bit. People also visit brick and mortar shops to get model numbers and scan the items with their camera phones, then leave and order it online without asking if you would match the price. Or maybe you would offer a two or three year maintainance plan for the same price.
I have one Marklin authorized service and sales dealer left here.
He did the same thing for customers who ordered direct from Germany. He told them to send it back there for warranty repair work.

I guess I just don't understand..

My local vac shop only carries a select few models of the Riccar brand; no Brilliances or Radiances. Isn't each shop obligated to sell most of the line-up, if not at least the TOL of each machine?, or can they choose to carry whatever they'd like, assuming space wasn't a big issue? It's very frusturating when you want a specific model and they obviously don't carry/sell it, especially when high end machines like this are only sold through a dealer.

I suppose it's possible,

However it kind of defeats the purpose of trying it out before you buy, to truly understand what you're getting.

aaa vacuum and repairing vacuums purchased on line

I knew about AAA vacuum, but thought they were mainly in Illinois. Does anyone know who they are a dealer for? Regarding repairing vacuums purchased on line, Tom I do agree with you there. While I think you should be able to purchase any vacuum on line, there is a responsibility that goes along with it. If you purchase on line and then need warranty service, it would not be right to go to a local dealer and say, "I bought this on line and it's under warranty, so fix it for me. If you purchase on line, and you need warranty service, you should contact the place you purchased it from. If a vacuum store does decide to repair a vacuum not purchased from them, I think it's perfectly reasonable to charge more for the repair than if it was purchased from them.
