Well, basically just what things do you like when vacuuming?

I.E ~ I love hearing the beater bar on say, a Hoover Junior or hearing the agitation etc. I (for some odd reason) like hearing the wind down. I LOVE vacuums with really bright headlights. (This is aimed at uprights) I also like hearing when things rattle up. When using a Turbopower Total System I love hearing the pitch change when putting it into tools setting.

This applies to modern and vintage vacuums.

I look forward to hearing what else people like/love :)

Ooh, lovely thread idea Emma! :D

I like when you use either a Dyson DC07, DC14 or DC33 and you are using it normally, then you push it upright, the changeover valve makes a nice whistle and then diverts the suction, then WHOOSH goes the suction as it starts sucking from the hose XD

Also, I like when I suck something up and you can hear it go up the tubes.

I like when you vacuum he edge of a rug up and when you pull the vacuum back it gets sucked up and the cleaner head lifts up.

I love my vintage Kirby's and seeing their big puffy bags. I love seeing the satisfying carpet lines as you vacuum yourself out of a room. With my new-to-me Rainbow, I love seeing all the crud I just got out of my house, watching it pour into the toilet and flushing it away!

Me too! I like when I push the vacuum forward and the suction seals the head onto the carpet then you pull the machine back slowly and that is a perfect groom mark

Hmm

Grooming.

The sound of dirt passing through the machine whether it's the sound of debris hitting a direct air machine's fan or debris passing through a hose, there's something just so satisfying about it.

Agitation. I like being able to feel the agitation of the machine as I'm using as it gives me the idea that i'm really deep cleaning.

Same with me-like the sound of stuff picked up going thru the vacuums fan and sometime the "thoop" of the stuff into the bag-esp with the NSS M1.You know the stuff was picked up-otherwise the feel and rattling of the debris going thru the hose and wands. Then the spin down of the motor-and seeing the bag slowly deflate-and of course it poofing up on start up.And yes,the vibration of the roller brush on the carpet! And with loose surface stuff-seeing it dance around before being picked up.Vacuums CAN be entertaining besides being useful for cleaning!

Heres a video I did of the agitation that I just love to hear. Yes I know the bearings sound horrid i'm getting round to replacing them once I have stocked up.

OOH yes I like that too! When you use it on a rubber backed rug especially :D so satifying. I even hear my neighbour's Dyson DC33 making that noise! I think they have a rubber backed rug in the kitchen
