New vacuum thougts
I like canisters so it has to be that.
I've tried the Hoover Anniversary Windtunnel. Its good, I was hoping they'd put the newer Windtunnel powerhead on a bagged canister, they haven't. The hose on the anniversary machine is awful--stiff and hard to use. Otherwise a good cleaner.
I got a used Riccar 1700 canister. I thought one of these was going to be mine dream machine. I like it, it cleans good, but I think there's better out there. Its heavy, its hard to maneuver, doesn't run over its own wheels, too many push buttons on hose handle and each time you turn it on, you have to reset the speed you want and turn on the powerhead. I think the agitator cavity should have a wider opening. I think its just too narrow for good suction seal and airflow time grabbing dirt on the rug. Also now CenTec is making the powerheads, they eliminated the Chevron brushroll. I'd like to try the Chevron wood brushroll. Has anyone used one of these? How do you like them.
I do want a Royal Lexon SR30020 looks nice. I tried one in a vacuum store and glides so easily over the carpet but there's good power. Looks good on some youtube videos.
Everyone talks great about Sebo. I tried several in a hotel they were awful. Maybe the maintenance staff just wasn't keeping up on them and I need to try a new one? The power nozzles on the youtube videos sound wierd and lame, just strange sounding motors. And Mieles I'm curious about but skeptical. The new Wessel Werk power heads coming on them that people rave about, are they really that good? Theres no bars on the bottom for keeping area rugs or extra base support. Wierd how its all open. I'm very interested in opinions on this.
I really wish Hoover or Eureka went back to their 1980 routes with RotoMatic, Quadraflex Powermatics and created something neat and exciting again
Thanks
