Let's start a thread for our favorite vacuums. To start off with, my favorite vintage vacuum is the Air-Way uprights. They are such well designed vacuums for its time. Air-Way in general has some of the best vacuums in my opinion. My favorite new vacuum is the Air-Way as well, because, not only has their design hardly changed, but they work very well too. So, let's hear some more!! YAY!!

Hover

I love the constellations and the celebrities. The way they float on the floor is so cool. Yah I know they blow the dust around blah blah blah. I have used a hovering celebrity and the conventional wheeled type and they both leave the room smelling like dust when I'm done. I can't wait to try a new constellation with the hepa bags.
I also like my Rainbow, but it takes a long time to use.

Here's Mine

Not that it is the best vacuum in the world, but I found it brand new in the box. A brand new 1953 Hoover Aero-Dyne. They don't make them like this any more. I can just imagine it with a Hoover 61 upright. What a combination!

Kirby Classic Omega, Hoover Dial-A-Matic, Any early japanese model, Hoover Senior (convertible), Hoover Junior and Kirby Heritage II...meh I like too many to be listed all at the same time.

It's really a tough question considering I like so many different machines (and each has their own advantages and disadvantages), but if I had to pick a favorite, it would be the Eureka 1400-series uprights, some of which are shown here. I have to admit that the metal-base Hoover Convertibles would come in at a close second, though.

And I must say, after using it, that Eureka 3300-series canister is really growing on me as well!

It's a tough question for me because I haven't used let alone seen the majority of the vacuums out there. I suppose though if I had to pick only one to live with me on a desert island I'd take the Eureka Vanguard upright. Why? Because they and the Hoover Convertibles to me are what a vacuum should look like and I always sort of liked the Eurekas just a teensy bit more. Now if I could take a second along I'd take the Kirby Heritage Legend II.

My favorites

Well now that my collection has grown to right at 300 vacuums, I guess the best answer would be all of them because i do use them all, but at one time my most favorite 2 of all time is the Compact c4 turquiose and the kirby model 561 which were the 2 first vacuums that caught my eye and my fastinaction grew from those 2. But my oldest vacuums like my Kenmore bugeye and my singers r series and my euerka m impress the H*ll out of me because in my opinion they do just as a good job as my brand new Miele and my new constellion. I will definately add the New Electrolux intensity to my collection in Janurary 2007 when they make the debut, I went to the site and watch 2 different videos of it and i'm totally impressed with it and like someone said that this vacuum kinda reminds them of the converto vac and it kinda does and another that it reminds me of is the miele Art which I also have the difference between the 2 are, the art is straight suction only no power brush at all and it does have on board tools where the intensity doesn't have any at all, but does have the power brush on it, in fact in the vidoe they show a Hoover Z 700 with the hose hanging on the back of it and they say the difference is the intensity has no hose at all but only a 3 inch pipe that goes straight to the bag and that way given it more suction power. I can't wait to get it

Skip...

I forgot to mention:

My favorite upright will always be a Kirby. Most notably, the 505. That is my dream vacuum. I would love to get one. I love the idea of so many attachments! I think a Kirby might not just be considered a vacuum cleaner any more, but more like a complete home tool set/renovation team. Isn't that close to what Kirby's motto is today?

For me it would have to be........

My 1963 Hoover Convertible Special 33, It was bought by my mom and dad when they moved into there new house as newlyweds in 1963. I also absolutely love My blue Constellation 86 which I use to clean my kitchen floor as well as my foyer. I also can not forget my model 61 which just exudes class and style and has the greatest sounding motor I have ever heard.. Patrick COffey

Mine would have to be the Rexair Model B, The Hoover Model 150, and the Air-Way 55A. The Air-Way uprights and the early Hoovers all rate right up there too.
